The case against a DC police lieutenant accused of helping Proud Boys is

growing increasingly 'terrifying'.

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced earlier this month that District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Lt. Shane Lamond had been indicted on four federal criminal charges: one for obstruction of justice, three for making false statements. DOJ prosecutors allege that Lamond shared police information with Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and tipped him off about a case against him: the one in which he was arrested for his part in burning a Black Lives Matter sign that had been stolen from an African-American church in late 2020.

"The indicted officer is not some random beat cop," Schaffer notes. "A 24-year veteran of the department, Lamond led the Intelligence Branch of the department’s Homeland Security unit until last year, when he was suspended after coming under investigation. That investigation culminated in a May 19 obstruction of justice indictment for allegedly lying to investigators who were looking into the relationship with Tarrio…. According to prosecutors, Lamond and Tarrio communicated 500 times beginning in 2019, often via chummy exchanges."

Michael Fanone, a former MPD officer who was violently attacked by Donald Trump supporters inside the U.S. Capitol Building on January 6, 2021, has been sounding the alarm about far-right extremists working for police departments.

Fanone, now a CNN contributor, told Politico, "I think that most law enforcement agencies in this country are scrambling to maintain the officers they have and recruit new ones to replace the hundreds that they've lost. The last thing that they're worried about is coming up with a comprehensive screening process for domestic extremism.”

The rural red West has many dirty cops who will support or condone an organized RW extremist terrorist attack on our country.

These rural red areas are particularly susceptible to a violent takeover by RW terrorists, as the RW terrorists and their sympathizers comprise a significant majority of the populations in these rural red areas.

Theoretically, the overall logistics and demographics of the rural red west make these areas ripe for the picking by RW domestic terrorists, should they launch a well organized widespread attack on the citizens loyal to the US, and the governments and factors and means of production in these areas.

If the cops won't stop the terrorists, a coordinated blitzkrieg type mass guerilla action has a good probability of, at least, temporary success. Mobilizing the national guards of states under siege takes too long. Once the terrorists have established an occupation of these areas, they will be more difficult to eradicate than a massive bedbug infestation in a third world cockroach motel.. They will take hostages to deter any military intervention by the federal government, which will result in a totally FUBAR mess that could take years to clean up.

After the DOJ finishes cleaning up its own house, they will need to employ more agents loyal to the US in order to more quickly identify and root out as many domestic terrorists from state and local police agencies in rural red areas as possible.

74,000,000+ voters voted for the Magat King. It is naive to believe that domestic terrorists and their collective cells are not planning and organizing another attempt at overthrowing our federal government. Unfortunately, J6 taught them to not communicate with each other electronically, so it follows that they are already employing other means of communication that are much more difficult to track.

Michael Fanone gets it. Hopefully, Attorney General Garland is also alarmed, and is already on this, in a big way. Worshipers of the MAGA king are dangerously deluded, and many are full blown psychotic.

And the majority of them are armed with weapons of war. Lots and lots of guns. I estimate that, collectively, they have a minimum of 250,000,000 firearms, plus an abundance of other types of weaponry and gear used in warfare.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Police and military are often of an authoritarian mindset to begin with. Many police are former military. Television on Military bases and armed forces radio has been filling their heads with Limbaugh, Fox News and other far right authoritarian talkers for literally decades. It was only a matter of time and it’s terrifying.

to the protection of democracy, given all that access to radicalization. Too many (most?) aren't the principled characters played by actors like Andy Griffith or Kevin Costner... etc.. Look what the FBI did to Hillary Clinton... even as MAGAts moan about the Deep State, and cry for defunding the very institution that helped make Trump president.

as black folk in the deep blue eastern cities can attest to.

One such idiot - the head of the Proud Boys chapter here in Philly, Zach Rehl, was just convicted of seditious conspiracy for his role in the J6 insurrection.

Proud Boys trial: Who is Zach Rehl, the right-wing group’s Philly leader charged in sedition case?

Who is Zach Rehl?

A Marine veteran and son and grandson of Philadelphia police officers, Rehl has led the city’s chapter of the Proud Boys since at least 2018 — a role that has put him at the forefront of many of the group’s most controversial moments.

When Proud Boys were spotted mingling with officers at a “Back the Blue” rally outside the Fraternal Order of Police lodge in Northeast Philadelphia shortly after the racial justice protests of 2020, Rehl was there, drinking beer and chanting with others in the parking lot who were openly carrying a Proud Boys flag.

He was one of the organizers behind a 2018 pro-Trump “We the People” rally outside Independence Hall that drew a minuscule crowd of supporters but led to heated clashes with a much larger group of counterprotesters.

When Trump appeared to lose the 2020 presidential election, he posted on the right-wing social media site Parler: “Hopefully, the firing squads are for the traitors that are trying to steal the election from the American people.” And as Trump called his supporters to a Jan. 6 rally to protest Congress’ certification of Joe Biden’s victory, prosecutors say, he was selected by top Proud Boys leadership to organize the group’s presence in Washington that day.

(emphasis mine)

FOP Lodge 5 is a hotbed and for years, the black officers have been part of their own organization - The Guardian Civic League because the racist cops here continually harassed and attacked their black coworkers. They also vociferously objected when the National FOP endorsed 45 in 2016.
