Despite warnings, woman approaches bison for selfie in Yellowstone

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyoming -- A visitor to Yellowstone National Park was caught on camera in an incredibly dangerous stunt.

Park officials warn the public to not approach bison and other wildlife in the park.

But a woman was seen recently standing just a foot or two away from a bison laying on the ground.

Just so she could take some selfies.

Experts say the woman could easily have been gored. And the animal would then have to be euthanized, through no fault of its own. ................(more)

Grand Canyon National Park. Driving with wife in scenic wilderness area, had to stop for elk crossing road. Mind you, elk aren’t as big as moose but they’re pretty effin big regardless. Herd was perhaps 20 feet from right side of car, milling about. Woman emerges from passenger door two cars back and walks toward herd, who are already backing away. Elk had finished crossing road and we left that fool to whatever fate she was tempting.

Over by the sulfur pots, and a bison came ambling down on the other side of the two rail fence. As he got nearer to the fence, my wife and I got farther away. Those things are BIG, and while he seemed to be in a chill mood, any wild animal can go from chill to rampage very quickly. There were others in the vicinity, though, who got closer and were trying to line up selfies, and both of us thought, "Are you out of your mind?"

when one of these park Bison, Elk or Bear attacks one of these morons, and gets shot by a boyfriend or some such idiot trying to stave off the attack. It's just a matter of time.

This shit has been happening for decades. My family travelled through Yellowstone in the 70’s and heard on the radio of a Just Plain Stupid person getting gored back then, too.

Some people just deserve what’s coming to them.

If the bison (bull or mom) would end up seriously injuring or killing the idiot, the said bison may be euthanized for doing what bisons do.

Is the buffalo/bear/whatever going to become a bloodthirsty human killer?

NO. And there is no proof that it would.
