GOP bill seeks to remove no-fly zone designations for U.S. Disney Parks

A group of congressional Republicans wants the no-fly zone designations for Disneyland and Walt Disney World removed, saying in part that no theme park should receive “special treatment just because they are well-connected.”

The bill, formally known as the Airlines Independent of Restrictions Act or AIR Act, was reintroduced by U.S. Rep. Troy E. Nehls, a Republican from Texas, who first introduced the bill in 2022.

The bill would direct the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg, to rescind the no-fly zone designations over the domestic Disney theme parks, which were given to the parks after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

“Theme parks like Disney should not receive special treatment just because they are well-connected. Our national security should not be compromised to fit the needs of one corporation,” Nehls said in a statement.

KTLA reached out to the Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World about the proposed bill but has not heard back.

What the actual fuck??? This is absolute insanity. This shit has got to stop. I live like 20 minutes from Disneyland. Fuck the god damn MAGA conspiracy theory assholes. We've got to get rid of these MAGA assholes in Congress. They are now threatening the lives of American citizens who choose to patronize and work at Disney parks. If there is a hell, it waits for them.

"This bill authorizes the Walt Disney Company to purchase, at government cost, four Phalanx close-in weapon systems with 100,000 rounds of 20mm ammunition and one surface-to-air missile system with 100 missiles for each of their park properties, and to engage any aircraft that may intrude on Disney airspace."

Now that “Gay Days” has started in WDW, you get a stream of skywriting planes buzzing the parks all day trying to send messages about God and sin & blah ,blah , blah.

Hey, if god is who you claim him to be, He wouldn’t need skywriters to get his message across, now would he?

Literally my home turf. I live like 20 minutes from Disneyland. I know lots of people who have Disneyland season passes and also work at Disneyland. The MAGAs in Congress are terrorists if they go through with this.

Millions and millions of Americans and international guests go in and out of those parks every year.

These are not podunk parks in Ohio, Texas or Missouri. Sorry Repubs, Disney just is in a different league.

It's there because it's massive, crowded, and highly public which makes it a major target for terrorists. It's to stop people from dying.

DeathSantis is having his allies in Congress attack Disney

Republicans aren’t done targeting Disney in their political, disinformation-riddled war on free enterprise.

Late last week, several House Republicans introduced a bill that would rescind special no-fly zones federally authorized above two Disney properties: Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California.

It’s the latest example of the GOP, which is known for favoring corporate interests, seemingly targeting a corporation because of its political independence. Disney, of course, has been under attack by conservatives — especially Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — ever since company leadership spoke out against bigoted legislation, signed by DeSantis, that restricts in-school discussions about LGBTQ people.

I am pissed that it is my congresscritter who filed this bill
Rep. Troy Nehls, a Texas Republican, first introduced the Airlines Independent of Restrictions Act targeting Disney’s “no-fly zones” last June. He reintroduced it Friday, with co-sponsors including right-wing extremists Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia and Lauren Boebert of Colorado.

“Theme parks like Disney should not receive special treatment just because they are well-connected,” Nehls said in a news release upon the bill’s reintroduction. “Our national security should not be compromised to fit the needs of one corporation.”

Nehls is a low life scum bucket
