(6,490 posts)and absolutely cringing when they they started the profile of John David Stutts. They said "...in this modest home in Lima, Ohio," pronouncing it the same way as the city in Peru. But, we Ohioans are famous for naming our towns after cities and places around the world, but then mangling the pronunciation. Versailles, OH, for example, is pronounced like "Versails." Russia, OH, is pronounced like "Rooshie." And Lima, OH, just a piece up the road from me, is certainly no exception and is pronounced like "Lyema."
That's your fun Ohio fact for the day.
But, it was still a good bit, and all the kids were talking about it at school Monday.

(4,859 posts)The are lots of good sketches and setups from that era. The lampoon of James Brown's "Hot Pants" had Eddie singing "Hot Tub" wearing only his shorts and then sliding into a real hot tub to share it with Dr. Joyce Brothers.
