Staffing is picking up. Fundraisers, too. The question is: Is this a blip, or a sign of things to come?

PHILADELPHIA President Joe Bidens campaign is finally waking up.
After inching forward earlier this year at such a slow pace that it worried Democrats, Biden is kicking his reelection bid into a higher gear. Hes hosting a series of fundraisers, rolling out new staff members and announcing key endorsements.
On Saturday, he is also holding his first rally of the 2024 presidential election cycle in Philadelphia.
The flurry of activity is likely to calm the nerves of at least some Democrats as Biden begins to show the urgency that they felt was lacking when he first announced he was running for reelection in April. But it almost certainly wont appease others in the party who are concerned that Biden is still not moving at the clip needed to take on former President Donald Trump or, perhaps, a younger, more formidable Republican opponent.

(2,738 posts)Expect to see more of Holly's work on DU. She has a special promoter of her work right here.
She has every right to have her job, and to make $$, of course.
And such an original take! "Old sleepy Joe Biden, other dems are concerned."
Take that, Democrats, you've been burned.
So neat, so sweet! Such a nepo-tasty treat.
Tiresome themes, delivered right to our doorstep.
Seems to skirt the rules, but hey,
it's election season,
hooray.
Dems in Disarray,
hooray.

(59,747 posts)This is not team Bidens first rodeo. They are seasoned veterans of many political campaigns, some going back before the births of the authors of this article, Id bet.
Waking up. We get it, already. Sleepy Joe. Trump already tried that one in 2020. It didnt help him much, did it? Why Politico writers think it will garner them any praise from Pulitzer, Stokes or just normal readers of the press is a mystery to me. Before publishing something that poor, I would have looked in the mirror, asked is that all youve got? Then I would have hit delete, and started over. Granted, it was my Dad who was a former Gridiron Club president, not me. Still, I was around enough serious press for much of my life to know the difference.

(7,864 posts)I hope everyone else who commented on my post read past the Politico headline because they would see an article about lineup of fund raisers, events and other inside campaign news.
No big deal for or against Joe. Just political news.
