I Think Biden Just Won Re-Election

If I'm not mistaken, I just witnessed him giving the middle finger to SCOTUS.

Not just for it's sake, but to FIGHT for our students.

If what I think I saw is correct, Biden wins.

Democrats win when they FIGHT and they fight from the LEFT.

He's going to continue giving debt relief to our students.

They are going to vote for him if he fights for them.

When they vote for him, he wins.

He is capable of anticipating this kind of crap and he almost always has a backup plan AND he probably has a backup plan if the first backup plan fails. He's got so much experience under his belt and has surrounded himself with very competent and resourceful people.

I've never seen anything quite like this administration in my lifetime. An FDR for the 21st century.

women and now students. Man, they have bent over backwards to try and justify their actions with Roberts even adding a coda about not criticizing the liberal justices nor the court. Geez, he's got balls after all the separate b.s. about his cronies taking big money free trips and more.

I do hope Joe goes on a long term bender each week of highlighting the graft, likely illegal in-kind gifts and more. Please start blasting them each week for all their short-comings.

"I paid for my college, what about ME ME ME!" Or things like, "The students went for the fancy law degree, why should I, a simple laborer pay for their loans?"

People are evil when someone get something and they do not. Everybody wants a piece of the pie.
If you don't have student loans, or bother to read up about the problems, you have no clue how horrible those loan companies are and what all the additional fees and interest add up to.

of college. Texas taxpayers subsidized most of its costs when I got my education. Probably a lot of them had such subsidies too. The investment in education from the GI Bill proved the value of an education to society.

That's why so many of us remember paying $150 a semester or thereabouts.

It was only with the mantra of "No new taxes" that the disinvestment in underwriting students' higher education began.

No one ever showed them how they benefited, very likely.

I didn’t have much debt, and the interest was super low. Plus the payback process was easy.

Jul 2023

I've never had more reasonable repayment terms than I have for my student loans. I got tens of thousands in loans with no collateral and little income at a reasonable rate. I've taken my sweet time paying them back, stopped paying altogether for awhile here and there and been able to get my payments lowered more than once.

There is no way my mortgage lender, auto lender or credit card companies would offer me such generous terms.

By applying 1/12th of the yearly interest to the ending monthly balance.

The duration of the loan (which is pretty opened ended unlike the other loans I have that have strict payoff schedules) will depend on how aggressive I want to be in paying it off.

26. Not if you are a Baby Boomer
Sat Jul 1, 2023, 04:23 PM

The Federal Student Loan program during most of the Baby Boomer generation did not charge interest while Baby Boomers were enrolled in college and had not graduated.

Also frequently, you could defer interest six months after graduation, if you asked. You could also defer interest if you joined the military or Peace Corps.

But also they capped Federal loans at least back in 1982 to $5,000 dollars a year and that was equal to my tuition that year. I paid back $30 a month, then $50 a month for 10 years.

My daughter borrowed $60,000 when she graduated and now owes $170,000 due to compounded interest in the last 8 years. She has been paying back and hasn't made a dent in it

I got deferred interest on my subsidized loans.

What kind of loans did your daughter take out? To go from 60K to 170K in 8 years, the interest rate would need to be much higher (13%) than the 5-8% range government backed loans charge . And that's assuming no payments, with payments the interest would need to be even higher.

I'm glad he's taking a second avenue and showing determenation on the issue. I'd also like to see him up the rhetoric from the bully pulpit. Call them 'rougue' and more. Support expansion.

SCOTUS is very unpopular and it's a fight we want.

I think Biden should use imaginary laws to make legitimate decisions on minor student debt relief.

If the SCOTUS can make up crap, why can't POTUS?

At least he should ignore all illigeitmate fact free rulings by the Supreme Court.
