We have a big tent but not THAT big. We definitely don't want people running in our party who are allied with disreputable and known MAGA elements even if they have an occasional left-wing policy position.

If you call yourself a Democrat, you can run in a Democratic primary. You can be "MAGA-adjacent", you can be a Socialist, you can be an Anti-Vaxxer, you can be Anti-Abortion, you can be a 2nd Amendment Absolutist and run as a Dem.
You just won't get very far, in theory.
Joe Manchin is a Dem. Should he be ALLOWED to run as a Dem?
