rightwing radio today: "she's the perfect girlfriend", "how could he resist" colonel, jogs, pushups

can do push ups, big breasts.... He's away from home. etc.

Blaming the woman.

Of course, I'm referring to the General scandal.

and don't get Pat Robertson started on her propinquity...

“The affairs of the heart seem to catch these guys,” he opined. “She’s a lieutenant colonel, she is an extremely good-looking woman, she is a marathon runner, she can run Ironman Triathlons. So, she’s out running with him and she’s writing a biography and I think the term is propinquity. And there was a lot of propinquity going on.”

“Well, who knows? The man is off in a foreign land and he’s lonely and here’s a good-looking lady throwing herself at him. I mean, it’s — he’s a man,” Robertson added with a shrug. “So, there are people who felt he shouldn’t resign if it didn’t effect his work.”

“I don’t condone sexual immorality, but at the same time, I don’t think it should be necessarily a disqualification for somebody to head the CIA.”

This one goes out to David Petraeus and Paula Broadwell. Perfect mood music and lyrics for those Special Ops you shared.

Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick

In the deserts of Sudan and the gardens of Japan
From Milan to Yucatan, ev'ry woman, ev'ry man

Hit me your rhythm stick, hit me, hit me
Je t'adore, ich liebe dich, hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me with your rhythm stick
Hit me slowly, hit me quick
Hit me, hit me, hit me

In the wilds of Borneo and the vineyards of Bordeaux
Eskimo, Arapaho, move their body to and fro

Hit me with your rhythm stick, hit me, hit me
Das ist gut, c'est fantastique, hit me, hit me, hit me

Hit me with your rhythm stick
It's nice to be a lunatic
Hit me, hit me, hit me

Hit me, hit me, hit

In the dock of Tiger Bay, on the road to Mandalay
From Bombay to Santa Fé, o'er the hills and far away

Hit me with your rhythm stick, hit me, hit me
C'est si bon, mm? Ist es nicht? Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me with your rhythm stick
Two fat persons, click, click, click
Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me, hit me, hit me - hit me, hit me ....

Monstrously difficult, especially to play smoothly. It took me thirty years on-and-off to finally get it. Norman Watt-Roy is a demigod. I fell in love with Dury's music the first time I heard it. Even got several Blockheads - including Ian - to sign my copy of New Boots and Panties back in 1978. Ian was one of the original Reasons To Be Cheerful.

My significant other at the time loved the Blockheads and turned me onto them and lots of great New Wave bands. Warm feet, a bonus in a dormitory with next to no heat.

...had this been a Democrat then the hyenas would all be calling an impeachment inquiry...screaming about "what do we tell the children"? The poutrage would be fever pitch. The fact that Petraeus was the golden boy of the right wing the "justifications" here just amplify the disconnect these people have with common sense and decency. They're still hoping they can salvage something here...I keep hearing "Petraeus has a lot to offer thie country" despite the fact he put himself in a very vulnerable position...in one of the most sensitive jobs in the world.

but odds are this radio guy went NUTS when it was Bill Clinton. Is anyone really shocked when they find out anyone has cheated?

I'm not sure I wish anyone's love life splattered across the evening news, yet while the story isn't really interesting or relevant like a car crash I can't look away. Perhaps it has something to do with all those years of the military brass explaining the fear of gays in the military and bringing down their high moral standards.

B-cup mind you, but that's what I like. She's a 3rd degree blackbelt, weighs all of 95 lbs, and can kick the living shit out of pretty much anyone other than the 9th degree grand master of the school. That's no excuse for cheating.

I know I'm somewhat of an asshole on DU, but cheating isn't on the menu. Yeah, she'd tempt me if I was married to someone else, but I wouldn't do it anymore than I'd cheat on her - which means "never".

Frankly I'm not sure why this is a story at all. It's an issue between him and his wife, not us. I know, I know, the election is over and the media needs SOMETHING to fuss over, but seriously? It's a private matter. Hell the GOP impeached Clinton for getting a blow job. Cum on. Get over it people!
