Welp, my Twitter app just changed to an X.

Yeah yeah, I know. Lots of you don’t use it, don’t like it, wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole. But I do look, though less all the time because it’s turned into a cesspool of all kinds of hate. But I’d wondered when the bird would actually be killed off.

I’m sure I will eventually. Still have a few general accounts I follow, mostly animal rescue and those political folks still posting. I use them to help me remember who to follow elsewhere.

After updating the app in the App Store, it went full X rebrand.

But I did sign up for Threads. It's very like Twitter, only at this point it seems to be only mobile app, and I'm terrible typing on my phone. So I'm just reading and not responding much.

OTOH, I checked "X"-Twitter, and though my "Following" is clearly all non-right-wing-MAGA (of course), the "For You" Elon Musk algorithmed for me is mostly rightwing, and the worst of them too-- Ben Shapiro and Candice Owens were at the top of mine.

I can't help but think that Musk in his weird nasty way has been trying to force right-wingers onto us.
