They're terrified of a judge who isn't Loose Cannon and hope they can get a Republican judge elsewhere. It's absolutely transparent.

A change of venue is granted when there has been intense pretrial publicity in a local area. Well, the publicity has been just as intense in Dubuque or Muncie or Biloxi or any hellhole in Florida (which would be more convenient for him), so I doubt that's going to happen. This is a Federal trial with national implications, so DC it is. Asshole's going to have to face the music there.

This is just the first in a flurry of unreasonable demands he'll make, all of which have to be considered. Delay, delay, delay--it's how he's always weaponized the legal system to his advantage. I just hope this judge isn't having any of it and levies sanctions agains his lawyers for the frivolous ones.
