3. Pension spiking has long military traditions

Officers who cannot get promoted are forced into retirement. It's a frequent case that the person gets their bird, their star, upon retirement to sweeten the pension.

makes no sense, does it? if the person was not qualified for the higher rank and pay, why kick them out of the military at that higher pay grade?

Officers who are criminal in their self-aggrandizing, like this general, need to be fired and denied pension at all.
