Two wins for Democrats tonight

Two major wins for Democrats tonight.

1. New Hampshire: Dem. Hal Rafter flipped a swing seat in a special election for the state House, in a district that favored Trump in 2020.

2. Democrats have retained control of the Pennsylvania House after winning a special election in Pittsburgh.

Democrats have been doing extremely well in special elections since 2020.

Do you think their success is due to the overturning of Roe? Or is it the effect that Donald Trump, as the likely GOP nominee, is having?

but that's not saying much. Probably we've lost somewhere, but we seem to be either running the table or greatly exceeding expectations. I'll take it!

An article from just last month:

...

An analysis from FiveThirtyEight found that in 38 special elections held so far this year, Democrats have outperformed the partisan lean -- or the relative liberal or conservative history -- of the areas where the races were held by an average of 10%, both romping in parts of the country that typically support the party while cutting down on GOP margins in red cities and counties, too.

Dems were expected to keep the seat. Inammorato won in 2022 with 63% of the vote.

Dems seem motivated to vote maybe flipping the conventional wisdom that Rs always show up to vote in low turnout type elections upside down.
