If the American people wanted Senator Menendez to resign

They would reward the Democratic Party for requiring corrupt politicians to resign.

They don't!...and they won't.

It's fucking hard to do the right thing sometimes. It's damned impossible when you do the right thing and are punished for it.

Maybe, if the American people would reward good behavior, they would get good behavior in return.

I will call for Senator Menendez to resign, as soon as an orange pile of amphibian shit, stuffed in an old sausage casing, with a shaved Golden Retrievers ass for a face, isn't leading the Retrumplican primary by 40 points.

Until then, requiring a Dem Senator to resign would be like Note Dame having only 10 players on the field against Ohio State.

Senator Menendez should resign as soon as the American people demonstrate that corruption truly matters to them.

Until then, I will use his vote to defend against fascism, racism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy.

Democrats control Franken’s old seat, and the Senate. Just like we will if Menendez resigns.

Sinema didn’t take office until 2019. Manchin has been around forever. And Democrats still control Franken’s seat. So I fail to see how any of their BS has anything to do him resigning.

As for all the rethugs you listed, they are the scum of the Earth. I’m not setting the bar for Democrats at their level. Because our party should aspire to greater standards than “equal to scum”.

For the record I DON’T think Franken should have resigned. He was never accused of anything criminal or even aware his conduct may have upset someone. But we are no better or worse off in the Senate for him having define so. And it could be argued if Minnesota had turned on him when re-election came we might have lost that seat.

Menendez is pretty credibly accused of sone BAD things. He should resign so the governor can appoint a Democrat to finish his term.

I am a Democrat, precisely because we are "not like them".

I don't require Senator Menendez to resign to prove that one party supports American Democracy, and one party doesn't.

I didn't need Senator Franken to resign to identify which party is infected with misogynists.

Bill Clinton was morally flawed, but his party didn't send violent, racist nutbags to the capital to hang John Boehner.

Our eyes should be opened to this horseshit.

Both parties are NOT the fucking same!!

The Retrumplican Party is nominating a fuckstick that wanted to see Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, AOC and even Mike Pence hung from a DC bridge like a scene out of Felugia...and if the crowd had gotten their hands on them...they would have done so.

So, please, spare me the "this makes us just like them" bullshit.

The media does a good enough job of telling people that a party whose titular leader has called for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to be EXECUTED is "normal". DU shouldn't help them.

The fucking people of Virginia could still smell the teargas, smoke and blood of January 6 waifting across the Potomac when they went to the polls in 2021 and elected 3 straight-up fascists to the top 3 statewide offices.

If fucking decency mattered to American voters, that would have never happened.

If honesty and decency mattered to the American people, Clarence Thomas, Sam Alito, MTG, Santos and Boebert wouldn't have a fucking job at 7/11.

The Retrumplican Party in Wisconsin is about to impeach a Supreme Court Judge to thwart the will of the people of Wisconsin.

I guess if Dems demand the resignation of Senator Menendez, the Retrumplicans in Wisconsin will see the error of their ways and do the right thing.

In fact, no Democratic elected official should be forced to resign unless and until convicted of a felony.

Americans don't give a shit about morality anymore. Criminal convictions are a different story (maybe)

Menendez is not my responsibility. Democrats need to stop running scared and allowing Republicans to frame things so that we become responsible for everybody.

I'm not betraying any of my principles when I state that it's up to the voters of NJ to decide what to do about their senator.

And if that's a little bit inconsistent, so what. We play the purity game too much. We have elections to win.

Republicans are letting Donald Trump run for President. Democrats can let Menendez stay in Congress.

Both should go to jail if convicted

There are two courts: one of law in which Menendez is presumed innocent and one of public opinion in which Menendez causes Dems to be labled as hypocrits if he isn't asked to resign based on super-strong evidence that he's a TRAITOR. His staying will be a drag on all Dems and hurt us in elections.

First, the idea that the American people don't want Menendez to resign because they don't reward the Democratic Party for requiring corrupt politicians to resign is a logical non-sequitur.

Second, I suspect that the people who matter most -- the citizens of New Jersey -- do want Menendez to resign. His popularity in the state was already dropping towards negative territory before he was indicted. I imagine a new, post-indictment poll would show that he's lost the support of the voters in the state.
