John Fetterman can wear whatever he wants ..... he has earned it

He and his wife moved to a very run down mill town in W. PA, Braddock, PA to take on as tough
a job as you can think of and that was to help, feed, build needed infrastructure, provide a sense
of home and community to that town. And they did just that. Yes, lots of work is still needed but
they got a really good start. They are good people.

BTW I know western PA and these towns.

That Sen. Fetterman is a good man but he (and all members) should wear appropriate attire when in the Senate Chamber.

"appropriate". What's not appropriate to you, might be fine to others. Republicans think Drag is inappropriate anywhere. See how that works?

And they weren’t ok with him showing up on the Senate floor in shorts and a hoodie, and have instituted the previous dress code.

There is decorum that must be maintained in Government, and both Jordan and Fetterman should abide by it.

If the answer is yes, then he should follow whatever dress code the Senate has.

Would you feel the same way if Grassley, or Ted Cruz showed up in shorts and flip flops?

Appearances are skin deep!

What really counts is on the inside: the heart, the soul, the compassionate mind.

What people wear is peripheral and not important.

problem with Jim Jordan's short sleeves and no tie either, but a lot of folks around here sure did. Jim Jordan is a creep and would be a creep dressed in a Brooks Bros suit. But if I see Obama in a tan suit, well, I just might lose my mind (swoon, swoon)

I have long believed suits and ties were an over required attire mandate. Ladies pretty much have freedom of attire.
A side opinion, I contend "never trust a person wearing a suit and tie to a sporting event!"

Really! Let us not get all bent out of shape over what Senator Fetterman does or does not wear!

Were we in the France of Louis 14th, men would wear powdered wigs and frilly bows around their necks. Were we in Samurai-era Japan, men would wear tiny butt-flossers and their backsides would be exposed for all to see. Were we in Biblical times men would wear "Jesus robes." And in fact even today in some desert countries, men wear robes and turbans.

So... who decides what's appropriate clothing?

And are MAGA Republicans in suits and ties actually better men because of how they dress? Is Trump socially more acceptable than Senator Fetterman because he wears that long red tie and a sujt?
Are we so narrow minded, dictatorial, and judgmental that what's on a person's body is more important than what's in a person's heart?

It hasn't altered his ability to DRESS.

Like bright rainbow colors or prints with hearts and butterflies. If anyone can get away with wearing rad patterns and colors it's Big John.

How about some high fashion?

If he can create his own low fashion relatable look he can do the same with his conform to the rules of engagement high fashion look.

I'd love to see him have some fun with it.

❤️

it's up to the Senate if they want to set dress code rules.
I also think, regardless of the rules, that it's not very presentable to show up expecting to represent your state wearing shorts and a hoodie on the US Senate floor. It looks very tacky and trashy. And none of that has anything to do with questioning his abilities or intentions. It's just a matter of showing up dressed like a dish rag at a parliamentary venue and expecting to be taken seriously.
