I believe that Musk is more dangerous than Fox News. I wish that Rachel had spent more time on that segment.

Who was it who talked Musk into buying Twitter? Putin?

Goes a little something like this: He made noise about buying twitter in order to pump up the stock price, and then subsequently dump his shares later when the price went up by an insane amount - the problem was he made a few too many promises and wrote a few checks with his mouth that he couldn't cover with his gluteus maximus, and the courts agreed that he'd made a legit offer. Musk panics, and other folks (Saudia Arabia/Russia) who could see a desperate kind of guy offered to help with the funding, but they were gonna need a little help later on down the road. Elon jumps at the idea because hey, it's not his money they're spending.

...aaannnd Twitter begins the slow spiral to irrelevence.

And he immediately answered that he wanted to be remembered for eradicating the Guinea worm in Africa.

But then I got his biography years later ("A Full Life: Reflections at 90&quot and realized I was far from mistaken, he really has led a "full" and wonderful life.

It made my skin crawl. As a child, I heard stories about worms exiting various body orifices. It was my biggest fear during childhood. But happy to hear the success of President Carter’s work.

He was mocked for his fireside warnings on energy, the economy and the environment. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and later the Carter Center to promote human rights, Habitat for Humanity and wrote many books. He may not have been the best politician, but he was a mile ahead of his time as a human being. This last great accomplishment is a feather in his much decorated hat. Thank you, Mr President for never giving up on us.

“Watch out Guinea worm! Here comes Jimmy Carter!” President Carter said this sign made by children in Nigeria was his favorite of all time. For 32 years Jimmy led a Carter Center initiative to elimate Guinea worm infections in Africa. #FreshWords

Guinea worm is a water borne parasite that grows in the body for a year and painfully emerges over several weeks as up to a 36 inch worm. Children are especially vulnerable.

When he started 3.5 million Africans were infected each year. Checking in for Jimmy's 99th birthday the 2023 case count so far is 6. What a remarkable achievement by a remarkable human being!
