Saw Rachel Maddow Last Night!

She is an absolute rock star! We got there early enough (in the rain - Seattle, of course) that we were in the fifth row center. THAT CLOSE to her brilliant mind. The event lasted 90 minutes and I was enthralled every single second. She is brilliant, thoughtful, self-deprecating, and funny.

We are lucky to have her wit and wisdom on our side. The crowd was 100% on her team - nobody disrupted.

Her final comments were for all of us to stay engaged, read, and connect with family and friends to keep them informed and engaged also. VOTE! And find another way to participate - be a poll worker, connect with Indivisible, get folks registered to vote.

I received a copy of her new book Prequel along with the registration for the event. I'll check in later after I've read it.

2. Rachel is a gift to the sane people of America

Her new book, "PREQUEL," is about American fascism of the 1930's and 1940's. She doesn't tie it into what's happening today, but she doesn't have to. The "Orange-Fuehrer-in-Waiting" and his minions of those who want to destroy democracy, are greedy, are uninformed, or are just plain morons, and are no different than those Americans who believed that Hitler's Germany was what America should be. The only difference between the American fascists of that era, and those of today, are their names.

Rachel is shouting out a wake-up call, and I fear that too many Americans are deaf to it.

Having said this, I wish I could have been there last night to see and hear her. You just know our country is totally screwed when the media pays more attention to a lying, deranged snake-oil salesman, than to a Rhodes Scholar like Rachel Maddow.

5. On her show this week

She was giving the book tour a plug and out of seven or eight events, those in Democratic states were all sold out and the only seats remaining were in Arizona and one other (GOP) state.

Like Hekate, I'm extremely envious.
