Federal judge dismisses Satanic Temple lawsuit that sought to strike down Indiana's abortion ban

Source NM

A federal judge in Indianapolis has dismissed an attempt by The Satanic Temple to block Indiana’s near-total abortion ban.

The Satanic Temple — a nontheistic religious organization based in Salem, Massachusetts — filed a federal lawsuit last year, claiming that the new abortion ban violates Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA).

The group maintained the ban is unconstitutional and an infringement on its members’ religious beliefs.

In a ruling issued Wednesday, Judge Jane Magnus-Stinson said The Satanic Temple “failed to demonstrate that its alleged cost of compliance or threat of prosecution amounts to injury.”

As a recognized religion, they can challenge pro-Christian laws and rules by demanding equal time.

They are a recognized religion/church and their rights are every bit as important as the x-tian view.

This mayhelp.

in this thread is how the word “Satanic” is likely to trigger a Catholic schooler (if nothing else because we’re talking years of repeated and reinforced references). But in context here, I notice how many similar beliefs are shared beliefs. AND how many references and illustrations are positive and reaffirming in nature, hardly what a general, more conventional definition of “Satanic” has come to be.

It explains to me how focused I am on belief-system-related motivations.

They are just very antagonistic against oppressive religions. They are mostly kind, exotic people who just want to rattle the christo-fascists. They're actually very tolerant, peaceful people with empathy.

Of course there are the outlying groups who really are evil. Sort of like pagans. There are the peaceful, earth loving Wiccans, then there are the Norse pagans who glorify the white race and Norse gods. They're not X-tian, but they are just as evil as christo-fascists.

about which I remember reading that, before he became a Fallen Angel, he ranked right up there in the Angel Pantheon along with the others we know like Gabriel and Raphael, Ariel, .

His name back before “the fall” was Lucifer which I somehow remember meant Light Bearer. Well, the nitpicker in me looked it up and what I was able to find was: bearer of light.

Etymology
Old English Lucifer "the morning star, a fallen angel, the Devil," from Latin Lucifer "the morning star, bearer of light," derived from luc-, lux "light" and -fer "bearing"

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Lucifer

Fourteen years in Catholic school, you learn all kinds of things.

Anywaaaaaayyy, when ol’ Lucifer fell, as the story goes, he
1) got a new name: Satan (and variations), and
2) his previous name, Lucifer, flipped to a negative connotation, and became the name of the Ultimate Bad Guy. Nothing about light anymore, even tho the first syllable in the name Lucifer IS “luc” (from the Latin).

And don’t forget the Mexican culture is loaded with Devil/devil references in art, artifacts, literature, and symbology.

I swear, some of this stuff ya can just fall into, head first!
