The Arrogance of Motherfucker on Full Display

On the witness stand, Motherfucker pointed to the disclaimers that were attached to his financial statements as a defense for any harm they may have caused. The disclaimers, written by his accounting firm, informed recipients of the statements that they might come to different conclusions about the value of Motherfucker’s assets — which in Motherfucker’s eyes relieved him of culpability.

But Engoron interjected, and offered a slight insult.

The judge told the former president that he was wrong on the idea that the statements’ disclaimers absolved him of fraud liability.

“If you want to know about the disclaimer clause, read my opinion again,” Engoron said. “Or for the first time, perhaps.”

In the opinion issued by Engoron in September, before the start of the trial, the judge ruled that including disclaimers from Motherfucker ’s accounting firm was no defense. Engoron wrote that “these non-party disclaimers do not insulate defendants from liability as they plainly state that ‘Motherfucker is responsible for the preparation and fair presentation of the financial statement in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.’”

“You’re wrong in the opinion,” Motherfucker retorted.

And what law degree do you have, Motherfucker?

Millions of Americans LOVE it when Trump behaves this way. They see it as somebody finally getting back at authority, at all the institutions that held them back (or just slightly annoyed them). It's a populist uprising of entitled, aggrieved, angry white people who have convinced themselves that they've lost things and somebody is finally fighting back.

The worse Trump behaves the more they cheer. And I'm not talking about meth heads. I'm talking about millions of white Americans living in comfortable subdivisions who have somehow convinced themselves that America is going down the tubes - despite the fact that they're actually doing just fine - and Trump is the only guy who can save America precisely because he's "not afraid to say what he thinks."

And they don't believe there's really any danger to themselves. They have an infantile view of the world being always more or less the same, no matter who is elected. They don't believe in and can't imagine a loss of democracy, even though it's happening all around them. To them, there's no risk in electing Trump again, can't hurt, might help.

THIS is what we're up against in 2024.

He knows more about law than any lawyer or judge, more about medicine than any doctor, more about business than anyone who got rich without lying to banks, he knows everything there is to know. He is the greatest intellect on the face of the planet and it is a terrible imposition on his rime and talent to be forced to sit in a courtroom while all these mental midgets decide his fate. He will spend the rest of his life working to destroy them and any of his other enemies.

Such is the world of the malignant narcissist, which goes WAY beyond simple Dunning-Kruger, in which incompetent people think they are competent. MOtherfucker thinks' he's god.

The judge in that case had one defendant (the only non-white, "coincidentally&quot put in restraints. I'm not suggesting that in this case... well, maybe....

Trump's arrogance is informed by his narcissism and ignorance. You really can't be that arrogant if you actually have real knowledge about the world. When you know things about the world you have "self confidence" but it is typically informed by understanding that we can't really be certain about anything. The more that you know, the more you realize there is so much that you don't know. That is the paradox between the fool and the wise person.

Trump is a fool. The hole in his psyche is so large that he tries to fill it with whatever he thinks will fit. It doesn't. That is why he acts like he does. He isn't confident. Confidence is usually quiet. Trump has to make sure that everyone hears him saying how great he is. That is not a sign of greatness at all. It may fool other ignorant people, but anyone who understands the situation will see it for what it is. Trump cannot admit when he is wrong. That is a sign that he has a weak and fragile self concept, not that he is confident.

His statement to Engoron was just another indication of his fragility. All but Trump and his stupid followers, understand that Engoron's statement is informed by his expertise and knowledge of New York, business law and statutes. Common sense (and I really don't like using that phrase) would dictate that disclaimers do not get you out of liability, especially when malfeasance has been established.

Like saying, "Skydiving is an inherently dangerous activity, we at Skydiving Paradise are not liable for injuries sustained by participating with our company..." Sure, if you jump out of the airplane, everything works as expected, but you land wrong and break your leg, you won't win a suit against Skydiving Paradise" BUT if employees at Skydiving Paradise, negligently or purposefully packed your parachute wrong and you break your neck, you can sue and would likely win if the evidence showed negligence or malfeasance and they wouldn't be able to argue that "you knew the risks" as a valid defense. Yeah, I know that I can get hurt even when everything goes correctly. I didn't expect that you would try to kill me, or be so negligent that you would pack me a bum parachute.

Trump is going down. I think that deep deep down inside, at night, when there aren't any distractions, he briefly understands it, but because he is so weak, he can't allow himself to accept that he screwed himself and his family over.

I laughed out loud for real when I read this:

“If you want to know about the disclaimer clause, read my opinion again,” Engoron said. “Or for the first time, perhaps.”

"Yes," I thought, "He probably hasn't read it at all!" Then I scrolled down and saw this:
“You’re wrong in the opinion,” Motherfucker retorted.

Did a spit take and had to wipe off my tablet screen. Mind. Blown. I can't even imagine being arrogant enough to say that to a judge in his or her own courtroom. Not under any circumstances!

Slobby obviously can't stand being in a situation where he's not in full control and actually has to submit to someone else's authority. Too bad, so sad!

In the course of 50 years in accounting, and dozens of audits, it was clear to me that EVERY audit by EVERY accounting firm includes these boilerplate disclaimers.

The reason is that accounting firms can only work with data that is provided to them; they are not able to vouch 100% for the reliability of that data.

This is worse than a Hail Mary attempt, and demonstrates the desperation of the Mango Mussolini team

He’s a piece of work isn’t he? Of course we know this is all theater as he runs a political campaign in the courtroom where it doesn’t really count except financially, which he hates. They won’t throw him in jail so he thinks he’s cool and he can get away with being a pontificating blow hard to keep his campaign on track so he can grift people for donations, and somehow he’ll sweep into the White House and then all this will be over with as he pardons all his scumbag buddies and reeks havoc on the country with our new modern-day Hitler in charge of the country.

Good luck with all that Donny. Who knows, maybe there are enough crazy people that will vote to turn over the country to an out of control megalomaniac sociopath.
