John Schneider Calls for Joe Biden's Execution After Losing on The Masked Singer

Former Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider and recent runner-up on The Masked Singer has called for the execution of President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

After being revealed as Donut on the singing reality show and finishing in second place on Wednesday night (December 20th), Schneider shared the following tweet: “Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son too. Your response is..? Sincerely, John Schneider.”

The since-deleted post was in response to Biden’s tweet about former President Donald Trump, in which he wrote, “Trump poses many threats to our country: The right to choose, civil rights, voting rights, and America’s standing in the world. But the greatest threat he poses is to our democracy. If we lose that, we lose everything.”

I was born the year the show premiered, and still have memories of watching it when it was originally on (and the folks always watched Dallas and Falcon Crest right after). My mom even bought me a General Lee Matchbox car, and I had a nightie with "Luke" and "Bo" on it. Up until a few years ago, I still liked to watch the reruns. It was a fun, escapist show I liked to watch with my dad.

Since 2016 though, and all the racial connotations, I cannot look at Dukes of Hazzard the same way. I really did like John Schneider. Such a handsome man, and as you said, an excellent singer. He did have some success on the Billboard charts (mostly the country charts) while Dukes was originally on, and could have conquered Broadway (his co-star Tom Wopat did for a time). His cover of "It's Now or Never" is actually my favorite version of the song.

It seems that his long-running marriage collapsed around the same time T**** hit the political scene. Not saying that was what soured things, but after that he really came out hard as a magat. His most recent wife passed not long ago and he has been very open on social media with his grief. I am sorry for his loss, but what he said about President Biden is inexcusable. I really hope he won't use his grief over his wife to justify it.
