If you are like me, youve been incredibly frustrated that this criminal was pardoned out of a fraud sentence and the s using appeals to stay out of jail for his contempt of congress sentence of four months. Well, looks like Bannon has a LOT more to worry about than just the contempt sentence. Granted anything hes convicted of will just go into more potentially years long appeals, but this guys future is BLEAK

But the legal walls are finally closing in on Bannon. That federal, presidential pardon didnt prevent Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg from charging Bannon under New York state law for those same illegal actions. That trial is set to begin in four months.
And Bannons primary financial benefactor, the shadowy Chinese billionaire Guo Wengui, is now under indictment for bilking anti-communist dissidents out of one billion dollars. Earlier this month, a superceding indictment alleged that Guos business entities, some of which included Bannon as a partner and co-founder, were part of a criminal organization.
And it looks like Trump isnt the only criminal defendant to stiff his lawyers. As The Daily Beast reported today, Bannon reportedly owes his attorneys nearly half a million dollars, and they are out to recover it.
All this adds up to some pretty bad news for Bannon. So lets review where things stand with him, and why it might not be long before Bannon is off that podcast and behind bars where he belongs.

Go ahead, surprise us god of all things material, spiritual, and everything in between.😂

(51,313 posts)After failing to pay his lawyer nearly half a million dollars, hes now clambering to halt a review of his personal financesa situation thats forcing him to admit something quite embarrassing: that there might be evidence of his border wall fraud scheme in his bank documents.
The conspiracy-spewing right-wing political agitator had the gall to stiff his lawyer, former federal prosecutor Robert Bob Costello, who stuck by him for years. Specifically, Costello was Bannons lawyer on a number of cases, including when he faced criminal charges for pocketing donor funds intended for a privately funded border wall between the United States and Mexico. So it was only a matter of time before the law firm of Davidoff Hutcher and Citron came knocking with a lawsuit, one that quickly resulted in a judge ordering Bannon to hand over the overdue $480,487.

Protass also argued that subjecting Bannon to questions under oath from the aggrieved law firms attorneys also poses a significant risk for the same reason: he might say something damning that could bolster two ongoing criminal cases against him.
Bannon, who helped coordinate a key part of former President Donald Trumps undemocratic plot to stay in power after losing the 2020 election, refused to testify about his so-called Green Bay Sweep to congressional investigators. As Bannons lawyer, Costello ran interference when the House Jan. 6 Committee issued a subpoena ordering the MAGA media figure to testifyand represented him when the Department of Justice followed up with criminal charges. Bannon was convicted by a Washington jury in 2022, but he remains out of prison while he appeals the judgment.

(6,443 posts)Where their money is, that's a different story. I bet they have plenty stored away in Cyprus, Cayman Islands, Luxembourg, etc. They keep enough here in the states for living expenses, so should they do get sued to oblivion, they declare BK and should they have to liquidate domestic holdings, they still have plenty to fall back on. Plenty of ways to launder money abroad. It's what I would do.

(3,031 posts)trying to set up his "colleges" for training revolutionaries and chao agents, I'd wonder if he won't fly the coop... perhaps to Hungary... should the walls get any closer. This is one person who should have his passport taken away. He is a flight risk. He has no reason to stick around and hear the consequences of his actions.
