What can we do - right now - to help Walmart protesters?

I already don't shop at the place. Perhaps donating to the United Food and Commercial Workers union that's organizing the protests? Go to a Walmart tomorrow or Friday to help the good guys somehow?

This is a big deal. If we can take a chunk out of Walmart, we'll have made progress towards winning back our country.

Please consider keeping this kicked so that people see it, in case anyone has an idea.

28. YOU can adopt a Wal-Mart and hand out flyers on Black Friday!

Nov 2012

That's right- YOU can "adopt a Wal-Mart" and hand out premade flyers, and thereby scare the HECK out of Walmart Corporate Executives.

Right now, HUNDREDS of Wal-marts already have a local sponsor- but even more do not have a sponsor yet- and need our help.

YOU can become a sponsor- a "rabel rouser", an ORGANIZER- too, OR you can help someone else who has already adopted a Wal-Mart,

SIMPLY BY CLICKING HERE:

http://corporateactionnetwork.org/campaigns/black-friday

Type in your zip code, and see if anyone has already adopted YOUR local Wal-Mart.

If so, let them know you'll come help!
-0R-
You can adopt a Wal-Mart, and then enter YOUR information as the contact.

You can visit the site and find flyers to print out.

Me? I'm adopting MY local Wal-Mart, and I plan to make flyers FOCUSING ON THE COST TO TAXPAYERS of our local store. I live in a VERY highly RED area- where if the locals knew that a half-million taxpayer dollars a year are spent to provide Medicaid to Wal-Mart workers in our ONE store- they would become upset.

I will do it- I am JUST ONE GUY, but if I can adopt MY Wal-Mart, and connect with a few other locals.

And we can teach some local Wal-mart employees HOW TO ORGANIZE for themselves....

THEN WE ARE ON THE WAY!

Volunteer!

-Social Security benefit cuts appear to be a real possibility, despite the fact that a vast majority of the country opposes them - including 76% to 77% of independents, Republicans, and Tea Party supporters.

-Only one American in 25 thought that Congress should make deficits its first priority after the last election, and only one in 50 thought its first priority should be taxes. What's dominated Washington politics (and media coverage) since then? Deficits and taxes.

They run on traditional Democratic values, then govern as... well, something very different.

And we're really fine with that.

Mind blowing!

I still have to check transportation schedules for Friday. It's about a 6-hour round-trip, but it should be doable. (But with your gear, I'm sure you'll get better pics. )

There is an FB page inviting supporters to show solidarity by joining in the rally, and I posted it in the CA Group:

You know people are going to shop at walmart regardless of a strike. I wonder what it would look like if the parking lots were full of cars but the stores were empty because people were just sitting there taking up a parking spot in protest.

That would probably keep more people out of the stores than a strike.
