Obamas at Capital Area Food Bank

President Obama and the first family continued their Thanksgiving tradition of participating in a service project by visiting the Capitol Area Food Bank on Wednesday.

Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, and daughters Sasha and Malia were accompanied by Craig Robinson, Michelle's brother, and the Oregon State basketball team, according to a White House pool report. Robinson is the coach of the basketball team.

Obama (earlier) encouraged other Americans to follow his example.

"I’d like to ask every American to do what they can to help families who are in need of a real Thanksgiving this year," he said.

They go there every year and when they lived in Chacago they would go to the local food bank at Thanksgiving and Christmas time to hand out food.
