Democracy deniers? I think that lands a lot harder. Election denier sounds like the play it both sides garbage.

(276 posts)When, 3 years after the coup, you have 150 (give or take) seditionist U.S. Congress "law-makers" still making every effort to topple our democratic government and doing so with impunity (as far a mass media goes), then you have a both-sider death-dance that can only end in a bad way.
Those traitor dirtbags should be called out as Big Liars by our glorious fourth estate every damn time they are near a camera or microphone and forced to retreat and retract their yapping heads back into their shells forever. But, instead, they are given a free pass to continue spouting their hateful lies, to become more outlandish in their accusations, to continue fµcking us up. The press (and their back-room financiers) is in on it up to their eyebrows.

(25,624 posts)I tried telling people that Trump already won Nevada before people voted. Nevada, I do not understand, held 2 elections, the first a primary where none of the above candidate wins, then later I guess some people get to vote again in a caucus where Trump already has the votes to win Nevada. The people of Nevada didn't select Donald Trump, the vote was already rigged for Trump.
This is how the GQP is rolling, and believe me they are going to try to cheat in the general election, we are going to need a few hundred Marc Elias'.
People in positions of power were not held accountable and it goes way back to DOJ allowing the Cyber Ninjas to have access to ballots, voter information, election equipment and materials. 2 private groups, not DOJ, filed a request for information from the Ninjas. they never produced the information, a judge fined them thousands of dollars a day but nothing happened, why, because the Ninjas was a bogus group with a mailbox for an office. DOJ should have intervened because Title 52 was violated.
People way back then defended DOJ's non-action. They will keep doing it because they are not being held accountable.
Violence against librarians, election workers, school board members, NARA employees, has increased since J6. We were told to be patient that once Kristen Clark was confirmed to the civil rights division of DOJ things would change, things did change, they got worse.
People in high places have immunity under this DOJ, and we have a member of the Federalist Society leading the FBI, a guy who lied to Congress.
It is up to us once again to vote them out, maybe a second time will work?

(25,624 posts)but the headlines will be, Biden's age. DOJ must not be partisan to people in high places who are planning to destroy our democracy.

(36,774 posts)And Putin would love to see the United States is destroyed and in chaos, which is why he put so much effort into recruiting cultivating and getting Trump in power. Today there will be thousands of people spending money hand over fist in Las Vegas. At the same time theyre complaining about how bad the economy is

(3,652 posts)A point should be made that the primary source of this theory (Faux News) had to pay $787M for falsely promoting that the 2020 Presidential election (remember, there was nothing wrong with any election results where Republicans won) was "stolen".
Along those lines, we need to point out every time there's a repugnant news release from Faux, that they had to pay a significant settlement for their misleading newscasts about the 2020 election. Their credibility and predetermined political positions need to be called out. Lord knows the M$M has completely forgotten this little fact.

(2,261 posts)The Constitution guarantees to American citizens the right to vote. The original Constitution did not define citizen, that was done by the 14th amendment.
I am an American citizen by birthright. I live in Virginia. I AM NOT a citizen of Virginia; I'm a Virginia RESIDENT. If I move to New Mexico or Oregon, my US citizenship goes with me, my Virginia residency does not.
I have a passport issued by the USofA. Virginia cannot refuse to accept that passport as identification and Virginia has nothing to do with issuing the passport. The passport is based on CITIZENSHIP, not my residency.
The US has a Selective Service law and system -- a military draft to which all 18 year old males are subject. When a young man turns 18, he is automatically registered and automatically receives a notice from the Selective Service system.
WHY IS VOTER REGISTRATION A MATTER FOR THE STATES WHEN THE RIGHT TO VOTE IS A US CITIZEN RIGHT?
It is simple enough for the federal government to register voters. When a person turns 18, they receive a permanent voter ID card and a pamphlet welcoming them to the world of voting -- same as the Selective Service notice an 18-yr-old male receives.
If a person moves there should be an online system for the individual to change his/her address. That and other details are nothing but details that can be worked out.
We should have automatic, federally-controlled voter registration.

(7,794 posts)For the answer to that question, look to the founders of the constitution. Under the general heading "slavery", subheading "electoral college" (glossary note: "if we don't do what they say, Georgia, the Carolinas and Virginia will back out."
