It really pisses me off that

The order against tfg is a legal document with specific listed penalties etc. How is it fu**ing possible that the people writing for these newspapers etc..., can't read and come up with five or six different numbers on a document that is extraordinarily specific.

No wonder it's so easy to hate the media. Even on the same channels on the same program, people report different numbers.
Am I out of line here?

Being charged on the original fine. I think it goes all the way back to when the charges were filed.

There's the initial penalty.

There's the penalty, plus interest backdated to 2019.

There's the penalty, plus interest backdated to 2019, plus the excess amount required should he appeal.

Also, Don Jr. and Eric were hit for $4 million each and Weisselberg was hit for $1 million. So, some are reporting the amount Trump is responsible for. Some are reporting the total with those adds.

Some are reporting the total for all lines, some just for stinky, and some for all with interest.

They are all valid numbers. But it can be confusing if you aren't paying attention.

Probably because of the time constraints on the broadcasts some are just adding all of the numbers, some with more time or more willing to do the math and break it down give the individual numbers.

The numbers are somewhat complicated because the overall number includes penalties against other people. Additionally, as others have pointed out, the compounding interest and start date aren’t clear.

Suffice it to say the Trump is on the hook for over $400 million when you factor in the E. Jean Carroll judgments. That’s really A LOT of money.

Want some more fun? Trump has four criminal cases pending* and other lawsuits in various stages. He needs lawyers for every one of those issues. According to Meidas Touch lawyers, Trump’s monthly legal bills are in the neighborhood of $6 million each month! He has to pay them or they’ll bail and he’ll really be screwed. That’s like $75 million a year! I don’t care how rich he thinks he is, how much (or little) his idiot followers will send him or if Russians or Saudis bail him out: Trump is screwed. He’s going to be wrapped up in courts for years to come.

* Trump recently lost two cases to Ms. Carroll and now this big fraud case. He lost 60 election cases. When he gets to court, Trump loses because his bluster and bullying don’t carry any weight in the courtrooms where facts and the law are all that matter. Trump’s losing streak has just begun.

What drives me nuts is the media calling it a “verdict.”
