Smith go Full BLAST on the Judge Chutkan trial? The hell with Florida for now.

(21,287 posts)I don't understand why Smith doesn't just ask Chutkan to set their date. That's what i'm not understanding. I'm sure there is a reason, but i don't get it. If they (Chutkan and Smith) set their date, what does Cannon have to do with that? TY in advance.

(22,153 posts)Its as simple as that. Once SCOTUS rules, Im sure Smith will submit a motion, although it is Chutkans call.

(21,287 posts)I'm just saying that I don't believe Smith will have much luck with Cannon. (before the election that is) I'm thinking he would have better opportunity with Judge Chutkan. (maybe i'm wrong here too) After the SC rules no immunity. (again trial BEFORE election)

(21,287 posts)He doesn't SET A DATE with Judge Chutkan? That is my question. Is there some reason the Chutkan trial cannot proceed without interference from judge Cannon?

(21,287 posts)Is there a reason that (if he wanted to) Smith and Chaukan could set a date and NOT be affected by Cannon. I'm basically say they know what Cannons game is, so go ahead with that trial. (Chutkan)

(45,993 posts)The decision as to the scheduling of the trial isn't up to Chutkan and Smith. It's up to Chutkan.

(21,287 posts)Can Cannon interfere? Simple question.

(45,993 posts)Cannon likely will set the Florida schedule before the Supreme Court rules. Whether and how Chutkan takes that into account in setting the DC trial is up to Chutkan. And, of course, the dates that either judge set are subject to change.

(21,287 posts)Why would Cannon set a date BEFORE SC rules, and NOT Judge Chutkan? Could judge Chutkan do the same, IF requested by Smith? Thanks again.

(28,649 posts)Even if they rule in his favor, immunity for official acts isnt relevant to actions taken after he left office.
She is free to set a date or wait for further pretrial scheduling factors to arise

The American people are being deprived of justice by havidng these trials stretched out and postponed again and again.
It doesn't matter his guilt or innocense we are being denied our right to that knowledge.

(195,096 posts)Images of him going to it in court dont help him. I cant find if he HAS to be present but the fact that hes being tried doesnt sell well with anyone near the middle. My brother tells me that our folks are dine with Trump. They may vote for a third party or just not vote in the POTUS election.
Hes a rapist and a fraud and everyone knows it. The Stormy trial starts at the end of the month. Thats not a good look going into spring/summer. 34 counts. I think its pretty rare to beat all 34 counts no matter what the offense was. Stormy doesnt help either because everyone knows what that means too.
