Does it seem that the national nightmare that is Trump has been going on forever?

I don't know. Nixon was pardoned and an end to our "long national nightmare" seemed over almost as soon as it began. Trump just keeps popping up like an incurable venereal disease. I look forward to the day when I never have to hear his name again. Any speculation when that might be?

He's been at the center of politics for so many years now. It's exhausting.

And it all really started with the media giving his birther bullshit oxygen.

2011 was when the media started really engaging with Trump on his birther bullshit. March, to be exact.

He went on the morning shows (Today, Good Morning America) and questioned Obama's birth. The media happily obliged. And he's been a right-wing darling ever since.

2011.

We're in year 13 now.

...but I didn't have a year, let alone a month, attached to that abhorrent bit of behavior. What a shameful chapter in U.S. history.

Of course corporations have enabled Trump's survival and entry into politics. There's a lot of division, destruction, and death that comes down to corporations' choices. Trump is only part of it, but what a trademarked lie it all is.

I'm about to lose it. I can't manage my anger well these days and I am a pacifist. I have cut down on the news but it doesn't help. Maybe that is why I am so frustrated. It is NON STOP BS! I have never felt such intense hatred for such a long period of time. I have to proof read all of my posts since I am sure if I expressed my true anger and opinions I would be kicked off of DU forever.

Can Americans make a class action lawsuit on behalf ot the 150 million people he has caused mental, emotional and physical harm to since 2016. Start with all the Covid deaths during his term. Then follow up with all the employers and employees who had to close their businesses, etc due to tRump's actions.

a "no win" situation. I don't share that view..People seem to forget that any type of "violence" brought about by the moron and his minions could be put down easily by local LED, the National Guard, or a combination of both.
I don't think it could be another 1/6 because the country is now far more prepared..I think too many overestimate the power of the Magaverse.

a few thousands at the most. but the national guard or police will have the same problems and more as we did on jan 6. these organizations are full of trumpists who will open doors and escort them on "tours" before ever thinking to stop them.

i am not saying its "no win," of course we MUST win the election, and SUPRESS the rebellion immediately this time. with visible results. like chalk outlines and piles of weapons on police tables.

He has already done all the whining on the last one, they might as well use his younger tape.

But does he fall apart entirely by Nov.? Maybe?

Is he even outside a prison by Jan. 2025? Maybe?

Not worried about him being President again but expecting even more dirt to leak out on the $hit before Nov. when trials will have started and ended, maybe?

Not proud of this, but I used to wake up every day since 2015 asking ‘Is he dead yet?’ Now I’m conflicted. We are tantalizingly close to convicting the Antichrist and making him pay one way or the other. But TFG is in serious decline mentally and physically; he may not last until the election. His unfortunate demise could give rise to someone equally degenerate but younger, more vigorous, and just as popular. Meanwhile, this one deranged loser has killed at least half a million people and given over half of the country PTSD. I don’t know what to think anymore. I just want life to return to something vaguely resembling normal.

All my life I’ve tried to live nonviolently. I do get angry and have done things in anger that I’ve regretted and hopefully atoned for. I served in the Army during the Viet Nam war and once again needed some mindful adjustments.
BUT THIS MAN has brought such terrible thoughts into my head some horror story writers would pee their pants.

When I saw the spectacle at MAL with him and Orbán I immediately understood how a person could walk into a room like that one and blow themselves up. I would’ve done it without a negative thought in my mind.

That, my friend, is some really stinking thinking. Its increased my meditation time exponentially.
