As much entertainment as I gain from watching Repugs shoot themselves in the foot, repeatedly, I am not sure that another episode of GOP driven House drama serves any good purpose unless perhaps there is some high certainty that Hakeem Jeffries becomes speaker in short order. Perhaps GOP driven drama hurts them in November but there is also much harm to the country and our international standing with this idiocy. Thoughts?

(3,019 posts)A couple of moderate Republicans resigning on the spot would give Jeffries the speakership.
Just imagine what they could accomplish in just a few months.

For the good of the country and world?
But some will not be happy with this.
I also just read the if Marge's MTV takes place, 2 more GOPers are going to resign from congress.

(15,632 posts)Is a positive thing. Keep them busy fighting themselves. Any replacement from their side is going to be any worse than whoever else from their side is currently occupying the Speakership.

(44,863 posts)She's adamantly against aid for Ukraine, wants border legislation tied to anything Johnson puts on the floor.
Her saying "she's heard" a couple of repubs will resign on the spot giving the speakership to Jeffries is not a threat directed MTG and her merry band of arsonists. It's directed at Johnson in a last ditch effort to get him not to bring the bills to the floor.
