Xi is Carlos Marcello. Putin is Sam Giancana.

Trump is like their Bugsy Siegel, sent off on some side mission and getting all flashy, but not really part of the big scheme--a convenience if he works out but inconsequential if he flops or burns out.

I stand by this metaphor
