Former President Trump said his 18-year-old son Barron is a smart one whom he trusts to advise him on politics.
Trump said his youngest son, who will be making his debut in the political sphere at this years Republican National Convention, likes the industry. November will mark the first presidential election in which Barron is eligible to vote.
Hes seen it. He doesnt have to hear. He is a smart one. He doesnt have to hear much. But hes, hes a great guy, Trump told Kayal and Company on Philadelphias Talk Radio 1210 WPHT on Friday. Hes a little on the tall side. I will tell you, hes a tall one, but he is a good-looking guy.
And hes really been a great student, he continued. And he does like politics. Its sort of funny. Hell tell me sometimes, Dad, this is what you have to do.

(47,892 posts)Did Barron call him "sir" and have tears in his eyes?
Seriously, I think Barron talks to his father as little as absolutely necessary. And Trump talks about his son as if he is an acquaintance he just met recently.

(1,813 posts)What TSF means by smart, and what normal people mean by it aren't the same thing...right?
To us, smart means educated (self- or formally), knowledgeable, logical, and so on.
To TSF, 'smart' means somebody who agrees with everything he says and tells him how great he is all the time.
He's probably also impressed that Barron knows how to turn on a computer and find a website without needing help.

(17,013 posts)At 6'8" tall and possibly still growing, TSF will always be shorter than his youngest son. No matter how he says he's 6'3" and 215 pounds.
Former FBI Director Jim Comey is 6'8" and towered over TSF.
Ever notice that TSF HAS to be the TALLEST person in the room? Fragile ego on display!

(15,152 posts)and I'm sure he hates it.
Most males lose about 2-3" in height by his age. Just normal bone density loss and spinal compression.
His shoe lifts won't make up for it against younger or taller people.
It goes to the heart of his ego. He hates it.

The masters program is implied when someone says Wharton.
Same thing with Northwestern & Kellogg or NYU & Stern.
He went to Wharton only because he went into those buildings. He graduated from Penn.

(50,630 posts)...when President Carter was in office he publicly disclosed that he talked politics with his daughter Amy. This led Republicans to bully her so badly she still won't come out of hiding, and it's been over forty years.
The same people that made Amy Carter's life hell are probably all going "Barron advises his father about politics? That's such a wonderful thing!"

You need to drop out and worry about your legal problems. Support another candidate who will pardon you. clean up your image. get out of politics.
Get out of public sight.
Just go dark. That is what you have to do.

(280 posts)It's amazing how the most innocuous, innocent statement gets pounced on.
Carter-Reagan debate, Jimmy rebutting a Reagan talking point.
Amy was 13 years old at the time.
Some reporters covering the debate in Cleveland groaned at the remark, a debate professor thought it was an unfortunate slip, and a number of callers to a coast-to-coast talk show suggested it was a memorable gaffe.

(10,393 posts)I've never even seen him smile. He's always shown walking twenty feet behind his father looking dejected. If Barron's half as smart as Trump says, he'll leave the country and never come back.

(10,012 posts)... "he doesn't have to hear" is not a normal interjection. I'm guessing Baron has a communication problem his Crooked Dad is misidentifying as a hearing problem.
