One juicy tidbit from Trump's trial not receiving nearly enough attention

Yes, Michael Cohen stole money from the Trump organization, but it was part of a payoff to a company to juice the polls for Trump.

How many other polls have been corrupted with payoffs to favor Trump? That’s the question.

The public turn-around is the mystery bc Tur has been there from the beginning. It was Tur who was assigned to the Trump campaign in 2015 when no one thought Agent Orange had a shot in hell.. She's seen all the insanity from the rallies and speeches and administrative disasters. She's witnessed the continuous threats to the press and anyone who doesn't 'get with the program.'

I do not get it. But now we know (from Cohen's testimony) that Tur has been a willing stenographer, Haberman's kissing cousin.

The whole thing does not compute for me. Pay-off, threats, big bonus from MSNBC? Don't know.

But as a journalist? In my opinion, she's lost all credibility because any reporter who apologizes or makes excuses for Trump is part of the scheme to bring the country to its knees.

Nancy Pelosi saw it. And now I do too.

Also, the samples were laughable...the New York Times polls basically used people who had never voted as people who will not vote for Biden this time...they never ever voted! I have seen samples with only registered voters too...and the samples are heavily on the Indies, GOP...but their magical formulas are supposed to 'account' for that. And at the end if they don't think the results are accurate more fluffing of the poll. So none can be trusted.

Cohen was supposed to be paid over 12 months. But I doubt Trump ever intended to keep his word. Trump played games missing payments...and dragging it out. Meanwhile, Cohen had to make the loan payments. Cohen was not on retainer either. It came out in court. Trump is a sniveling crook and always was.

As for bonuses, Companies who steal promised bonuses should have every employee walk out... a good way to lose talented employees. My future son-in-law had that happen. He found a new job and guess what? He got a signing bonus equal to the promised previous bonus. He also felt no need to train his replacement.

What those polls everyone swears-by that claim Trump is going to win it all by a giant margin are rigged for bribes? Those reputable polls that are from reputable firms that never make mistakes; are carefully scrutinized by academia while everyone fawns over them? How can this be? How can they be rigged and altered?

Polling corporations would never take money instead of just doing their job. Because corporations are not in it for the money. They are in it to provide valuable public opinion statistics, not to rake in as much money as possible.

The polls are all rigged. Except for a few that are closely held by the campaigns. If a poll is advertised, it's to sway voters and very likely rigged.

I can't remember which news service I heard this from, but the comment was made that Michael Cohen gave that company a "bag" with $20,000 in it, and he withheld $30,000 to compensate for what he felt was an inadequate bonus.
The important part, if true, was that it was a cash payment to that company. Of course that suggests not wanting to have the transaction documented.
Can anyone find out whether or not this was the case?

Cohen was probably talking about moving PUBLIC OPINION so that it would reflect in the polls in general. Not that he was doing something so that a specific pollster could manipulate a poll.

If you have evidence that they were attempting to sway specific pollsters, by all means present that. Otherwise, this is a risible claim you're making and has no merit.

and were not legit polls (with scientific sampling, margins of error, etc.), they are just popularity contests and PR silliness, not anything to be taken seriously. I've seen no evidence anywhere that Cohen/Trump did anything to attempt to alter the result of any "real" poll. (Which would be a whole lot harder to do... and in this case, they failed at even getting the results they wanted from these silly online polls!) ...these ridiculous non-scientific online polls (and basically failed!) does not imply that he has therefore likely been (successfully) rigging "legitimate" polls, as so much of this thread suggests people are thinking. Plus these polls were about 10 years ago, when those kinds of online polls were commonplace, before everyone started realizing that those polls were basically useless, you don't see so much of that fake "online polling" anymore.

I'd also say it was not a "juicy tidbit" from the trial... again, it was an old story from 2019, which you never heard all that much about, because it was as much of minor story then as it is today. To me, many of the comments here and the 200+ recs just shows again how easy it is for disinformation to propagate. Far be it from me to defend TFG, but this story provides no reason to believe that the polls showing Trump doing well are being manipulated by Trump, which I think is what this is leading people here to think.
