Look up the Central Park 5 story and Trumps refusal to back down from calling for their execution even after they were proven innocent..Trump is not a good person to be admired..

(460 posts)Being a trump supporter outs you as being a bad person with low moral character.
Full stop. End of story. No parsing. No milquetoast "straining for context."
It is just fundamental truth.

(7,313 posts)That's their priority --- to keep male supremacy. Trump is the perfect anti-women candidate.
Yeah, yeah, "not all men" ... But a lot. A LOT.

Also, his rich supporters are sociopaths who view the general population like flora and fauna.

(3,669 posts)And I cant say that a Lot of men hate women.
There are some men that have problems with women for a variety of issues, but hate I just cant get there.
I am sure that there are some men that hate women but I believe that might be a minority within a minority. I have know some men that beat women (there are various reasons that I have been told (such as my dad beat my mom, so; she needed it; etc.)) but they always appeared to be outside the norm to me. Yet I will say that I am not a woman.
Hate, I just cant get there.

(16,973 posts)And I can't get there, either. I suppose it might depend on how one defines hate. Someone else's definition might be a lot different from mine, which is pretty narrow.
There are certainly misogynists among us, but I believe they're in the minority. I think there are a a good number of men who have "issues" with women of one sort or another, but outright hate? I don't see it.

(7,313 posts)That male controlling nature is very, very prevalent. Again, not all men. But look at how the majority of male voters are just fine with Trump, even though he's a rapist and he is the reason we don't have Roe and he wants to grab women by the pussy and on and on and on...
Dan
(3,669 posts)I would add a thought to what you say - :
Some men see strength in Trump because they do not look beyond the surface nor employ critical thinking.
We dont have Roe because the majority of the SCOTUS jurist are men, but also because they are Catholics. Their faith drives our lives.

(27,293 posts)Only a few overcome it.
They don't realize that they are engaging in abusive behaviors, because they have been programmed to do so from birth.
1. Automatically thinking that their needs are more important than a woman's.
2. Automatically thinking that their duties are more important than a woman's.
3. Automatically thinking that "someone" will pick up after them, do their laundry, do their dishes, make sure food gets on the table, etc.
4. Automatically thinking that women should be concerned with the items in number 3.
5. Assuming that if his needs and her needs are in conflict, his will take precedence.
I could go on and on. I know many men will read this and insist they do no such thing.
I have YET to meet a man who does not do this.

Revert back to the days when patriarchy ruled the roost without any debate or question. trDUMP embodies the hopes of males to return to the days of uncontested male privilege. That special pedestal should have never been surrendered or taken away.

because
This may be the last year this country has a justice system that has justice as its goal rather than retaliation and retribution.
This may be the last year before people of color are rounded up and treated like animals and sub humans. (Trumps words)
This may be the last year the United States of America has a process called voting that actually matters as opposed to Russian type elections.
This may be the last year before a strong president declares the termination of Social Security and Medicare (because those programs pull money away from wealthy comrades).
This may be the year in which violence resembling a Civil War occurs. (Thanks to Trump and his thugs.)
This may be a year in which white Christians, both actively and passively, help elect a vile dishonest self serving documented sexual predator, expert business fraudster and con man, tax cheat, and dictator want-to-be who has declared he can get away with doing anything he wants to women because he is famous.
Truth matters. Honesty matters. Integrity matters.

IronLionZion
(45,885 posts)and that has an appeal to a certain type of man, and some women unfortunately.
B.See
(1,652 posts)including Black and Latino men, who find Trump's arrogance, bullying, maliciousness, misogyny, mean-spirited malevolence, and false bravado APPEALING, even to the point of identifying with him and deriving some sick sense of satisfaction (if not revenge) FROM it all.
Like Trump they (in general) loathe notions such as empathy and compassion. and feel empowerment from the exact opposite.
So it doesn't matter to them that Trump calls for the execution of Black men proven innocent, calls neo-Nazis very fine people, speaks of immigrants poisoning "our" blood, takes passages (almost verbatim) straight from Nazi Germany's playbook, and accuses America of "anti-white racism."
Does not matter to them that he does everything he can to court fascist, racist, white supremacist sentiment, but has YET to say a single FKNG thing in condemnation of it.
Add to that a number of Black and other minority (so-called) celebrities, athletes, and entertainers, who've benefited from the patronage and support of our community,
yet who are stepping forward to garner their 15 seconds of recognition and (I'd imagine) some sick-fuck sense of satisfaction, by saying controversial shit in support of this criminal, racist, rabble-rouser...
the rapist whose CONTINUOUS message and ideology of HATE has even our CHILDREN, girls and boys, being traumatized, under attack and getting called the N-word - in schools, in public venues, and on social media - on a DAILY basis.
So that's why, as a Black man, I have absolutely no use for these mfkrs (as I've no doubt made clear via various posts herein) and in fact despise them even more so than their white supremacist counterparts, just for their complicity, ignorance, lack of vision, and betrayal.
But hey. Let me stop here before I say what I really think of 'em.
Beautifully said.
