CA: Jing Sun (D) Announces Campaign for Irvine City Council

IRVINE, CA – Today, Chair of the Irvine Community Services Commission and prominent realtor Jing Sun proudly announced his candidacy for Irvine City Council in District 3. Sun has already raised more than $14,000 for his City Council campaign, drawing on his connections as a popular real estate agent, particularly in the AAPI Community.

The newly created city council districts were enacted by the voters in the March Primary, and they will be effective for the November 2024 election. The 3rd District will not have an incumbent on the ballot, making the contest an open race.

Currently serving as Chair of the Irvine Community Services Commission and appointed by Vice Mayor Larry Agran, Sun has been instrumental in expanding community facilities, improving recreational programs, and allocating grant funding to help low and moderate-income residents. His work ensures all Irvine residents enjoy a high standard of living with access to exceptional parks and community amenities.

Jing Sun said, “As a father, an immigrant, a small business owner, and a city commissioner, I know the meaning of the American Dream. My campaign is about preserving the vibrant, safe, and inclusive community that we love. And I’m committed to supporting our local businesses, promoting sustainable growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring that our city remains a beacon of opportunity for everyone.”
