Please, when the verdict is read, can we just have 1 huge "Convicted Felon" thread?

Sorry.
100 threads on the same subject is just in our collective DNA, for better or worse. No use changing it.
Welcome to DU.

(8,178 posts)from the tornado that swept through a town in Oklahoma and wreaked so much damage, I suspect injured or killed more than just a few families or members including babies and children. I asked her if God protected your family but killed other families because they deserved it? Why did God "protect" your family over others?
It wasn't intended as a rhetorical question to her, because she earnestly went on about why they were left untouched by this random tornado.
I think about how much religion has and continues to do so much damage to humanity.
Wars in the name of Religion since the dawn of humanity to this very moment.

(22,565 posts)I am definitely in favor of that myself. However, I know better than to expect everyone (or even almost everyone) to comply. *sigh*
I also have a feeling that I may be too giddy over such news to notice how many threads there are.

(2,010 posts)Lots of folks here celebrating!
Lot's of us pleasantly surprised, some shocked, some amazed. I think we all have something to say!
I just found out as i was leaving work, came here to read the celebratory comments!
Now we need to pass a law prohibiting convicted felons from holding office!

(7,785 posts)I'm in a lupus flare, so I was in bed, treating myself gently. I'd checked on my phone earlier this morning, saw nothing, and went back to sleep. Woke up just after the first Breaking post.... and then the WiFi in my bedroom went wonky. Came in here to get the PC to see and am thrilled beyond belief! Might even make coming out of this flare easier! (LOL) And I get my pain meds tomorrow! Too bad both couldn't have been on the same day, but then I may have done something that would have landed me in jail! (hehehe)
After pain levels are down tomorrow, I plan on going out to supper to celebrate some justice being served in the U.S.!

(2,010 posts)Perhaps shocked by guilty on all 34 counts. I expected guilty on some charges but not all.
I'm taking myself out to eat and celebrate tonight. About to enjoy a nice meal, and continue to check in on DU and text some friends and family.
I hope your Lupus flare subsides quickly, and the verdict helps to you to smile a bit despite the pain.

(29,336 posts)I work from home & was on a meeting. Not on mute as I was involved in the conversation
Suddenly the message alert on the cell goes nuts & the land line starts ringing. I knew it meant the jury was back.
Slowly, I opened a text, saw the result & immediately turned the camera off and the mute button on.

(8,198 posts)Fine, someone can create a huge "convicted felon" thread, I'll contribute.
But can we please please please not tell other DU members how they should express themselves? That's the kind of thing I expect from the other side, not from us.
