Please help - I am social media stupid (trying to help H20 Man)

I'm trying to create either a facebook page or a group to support H20 Man's protest. I have a pretty good contact base to get a group/page rolling (and of course, I'd promote it on DU and in a few other places), but I need to figure out how to go about this.

Should I be creating a group? A page? FB keeps changing things, and although I feel like my mother struggling with a tv remote, I admit that I'm confused.

Can anyone provide a good step by step in terms of creating whichever of the two (group/page) would be best to create?

I'd prefer not to screw this up.

I think a page is open to more people, they don't have to join whereas a group you join. uppityperson Jan 2012 #1

Click "create a page" which is (for me) in upper right.
Under that are options of a community or a cause.
Decide which you want, I've no opinion either way.

I did a quick look at "Scott Olsen", view all, then looked at what came up and I'd say page, then either community or cause for sub.

Groups can be open, closed, secret, hidden, don't know what all, but I think you have to ask to join, or be invited, vs "like" for group.

Good luck.

I put up a page, although I'm sure I botched the job royally.

I started a thread to announce it's creation and welcome any suggestions for improvement.

I fear that I'm out of my depth, but I've taken the plunge, nonetheless.
