George stated that ABC invited him as well but he turned them down.
I wonder if the corporate will keep harping on the fact *rump wouldn't take the interview regarding his poor debate performance?
Will that factoid be repeated at least dozens if hundreds of times 24/7 by the corporate media on multiple networks.

(59,581 posts)the monopolized corporate media with all their financial conflicts of interest have given up on democracy in favor of oligarchy or dictatorship.

A free and independent press has been theorized to be a key mechanism of a functioning, healthy democracy.[11] In the absence of censorship, journalism exists as a watchdog of private and government action, providing information to maintain an informed citizenry of voters.[11] In this perspective, "government efforts to influence published or broadcasted news content, either via media control or by inducing self-censorship, represent a threat to the access of important and necessary information to the public and affect the quality of democracy".[12] An independent press "serves to increase political knowledge, participation, and voter turnout",[11] acting as an essential driver of civic participation.

If the people are ignorant or misinformed, that's by deliberate design in favor of perceived profit, power and/or influence.
I believe going by that formula has cost our nation dearly over the past near half century.

(2,474 posts)The source of this statement is uncertain, usually people credit Napoleon but sometimes Sun Tzu.
I think it captures the Republican strategy. They can see that some Democrats (Warner, Ryan, Healey, Grijalva, Polis etc.) are panicked and in the midst of eating their own. Why interfere? TCF is a dumbass but even he is not so stupid to not realize that getting in the way -- making himself part of the story -- at this point would be a mistake.
So he stays mum.
