This right here is a billion times more newsworthy and potentially catastrophic than Biden losing his train of thought on TV. And it's not the first time he said it, either. Where are our priorities?

(23,590 posts)him last time.. He has the stamina to stand up to that insane rage, very very few in the republican/trumplican party can do that and look what that walrus did to the Grand Old Party
The are off in some fantasy world where they will pick this younger person who will ride in on a white horse and beat down the dragon.. That they the chosen ones will decide who our candidate is not those of us who have already put our support behind.
If we think this is ugly, try putting an untested person into the fray of the Trumplican supported by Putin machine.
Give me my tested and proven person who I know can defeat him..

(9,628 posts)To talk to the media, and talk about these Republican controversies. That's what Republicans do - they stick to their narrative about what they want to talk about and either dodge the questions or lie.
I always thought this was obvious, but maybe not.

(11,330 posts)they think that the media is going to do its job and report on important problems and issues for the GOP. And the media just doesn't do it. They need someone who is complaining to come to them and make accusations/complain/point fingers/etc. The Democrats in general leave it up to the media to decide what is news - and miss every opportunity to MAKE the news by driving the narrative.
It's maddening. I guess I get why they do it - they respect the idea of the media being its own editor - but it leaves them completely vulnerable to being unarmed in a war with terrible people who DO try to drive the narrative.
You don't have to work the refs like the GOP does - but you have to tell the story to the media, constantly.
Frustrating.

(113,040 posts)because Russia has frightened most of Europe into devoting more of their budgets to defense spending, meaning the US and its "nuclear umbrella" aren't the only things protecting western Europe. They've realized they have to fear conventional war, also, and that Russia remains a very bad actor.
Dion't expect Florida Fatso to have noticed the changes. He's still living in the past while trying to please Putin.

They say the difference between ignorance and stupidity is that ignorance is curable. By that measure, willful ignorance is indistinguishable from stupidity.

Partisan in nature!
Agent Orange can say any and every disloyal thing imaginable and the media yawns because it's old news, stale, just Trump flapping his lips.
There's got to be a special place in Hell for this willful blindness!

(1,055 posts)I've not heard one major media outlet discuss what TFG said during the debate - paraphased "I've made a deal w/Putin for the return of the WSJ journalist without any payment".
WTF? I had heard reports prior that TFG was sending those around him to.meet w/Putin and his govt... What happened to the outrage over "we only have one President at a time?" Oh, that's right --- TFG can President anytime he wants without consequence---the same as take WH official docs, foster insurrection, etc....
I've only listened to Lawrence O'Donnell on MSNBC sine the debate. Can't stand the sensationalism of Biden's age and purported (I don't buy it) cognitive decline. You can hear TFG's cognitive decline in his rallies--yet not one word---and his decline is precipitous since his trials and indictments.
Down to my hometown newspaper - Wash Post, but staying away from even that with the numerous articles on Biden's age every day before and more now after the debate.
DENVERPOPS
(9,828 posts)for no legitimate reason, even telling the troops to leave their equipment and everything...................
Those U.S. troops were keeping Assad from wiping out the resistance, and taking complete control of power of Syria......
The UN and Hague? had JUST days before, completed a lengthy investigation (re Assad ignoring Geneva Convention Rules) that Assad had used chemical weapons against the resistance in several villages and towns.......
The evidence un-questionably showed that Assad had dropped RUSSIAN made Chemical Weapon bombs, chlorine? gas, on his own citizens. They were provided to Assad by Putin..... The Chemical weapon bomb fragments were confirmed by the U.N. team as supplied by Assad's best buddy, Putin. The U.N also concluded from their investigation that the bomb fragments did, in fact, contain evidence of the Chlorine gas.
Trump's actions had prevented Putin from being charged with International War Crimes in the Hague.......Clearly allowing Assad, who is Putin's puppet, to take complete control of Syria.......
Our troops and the U.N. investigators were lucky to get out of Syria with their lives.......

(9,628 posts)Was it destroying ISIS or Regime Change?
If ISIS was neutralized, why remain? Although I think the real reason we left was because Turkey wanted to go after the Kurds, who were helping us against ISIS (and ironically, that ended up causing the Kurds and Assad to strike a deal).

(9,828 posts)But the troops were definitely there as a deterrent to Assad going to great lengths to get rid of the resistance to his admin which were the Kurds. The U.S. sure as hell didn't want Assad, bestest buddies with Putin, to roll over to Russian control.
The UN/Hague had JUST completed, all the definitive proof they needed, for the Hague to Charge Putin/Assad with international war crimes for the use of Chlorine Gas Bombs......and somehow that all went away coincidentally at the same time of the troop withdrawal happened.....???????????????/ The small towns and villages Putin/Assad used the chemical weapons on, were all suspected strongholds of the Kurds. The pictures I saw, of women and children lying in the streets and roads were beyond horrific, and death by chlorine is horrible my sources told me.......
I told my son, when he was a teen, that "we probably don't want to know about hundreds of things that are going on"......He commented: "and we probably don't want to know"........

Right now, the United States is the only thing standing in his way. If we bow to authoritarianism, guess what? Putin wins. He gets a blank check to finish Ukraine and head towards Sweden and Belarus.
And after he conquers Europe, guess who's next? Yes. Us.
So keep with your fucking wallets, MAGAs. There won't be a United States left to protect once Trump and his goons get their way.
