This is the result of a constant campaign by the media since the bad 90 minutes President Biden had at the debate. Very little was said about him not running while he was winning primaries to become the nominee. The media has been like a dog with a bone since the debate. By the way, the worst of these has been C-Span. Keep your eye on them. They are doing all they can to get Trump elected.

So a lifetime of grabbing women by the crotch is OK. But a lousy 90 minute debate makes you unelectable. makes sense to me.

Biden was busting his ass not just before the debate but since he stepped into office... and the mess that Trump left required him to do so.

The relentlessness of the post-debate scrutiny and pile-on with the demand that he get back out there immediately with a bad cold (which he did the next day without any time to recover) was really the beginning of the manufactured end in my opinion. He kept at it, making appearances, fundraising, doing interviews, giving speeches, but they continued harder and more loudly.

He couldn't even rest to recover from Covid with some people demanding that he be out there. It was ludicrous. They drove the narrative and ran him into the ground with it.

His already intense schedule would have been hard on anyone; but the broligarchs, the media, the naysayers and the congresspersons just wouldn't let up (though I think the doubters in congress would have once he was the official nominee).

He was being pushed into even a more intense schedule while sick without being able to fully heal.
He knew that there was no way to satisfy these people where satisfaction wasn't going to be accepted. They were going to keep focusing on him and any mis-steps he might have made.

I hope he can get the rest he needs now to finish out his brilliant Presidency but there is a shit-ton of work to do to beat that SOB that want's to destroy our country.

It seems that with the Clinton's and some others(I am not sure the Obama's have) just about immediately endorsing VP Kamala Harris, the donors seem to be falling in line. what promises had to be made to the big $ donors? I know the party line is that they all had access to super secret polls that showed Joe trailing in the swing states, but no one wants to share those polls with us average voters - kind of like Trump's tax returns - we hear about them, but never get to see them. I think its more likely the billionaires were concerned about Joe's approach on taxes. I expect they extorted a pretty high price from Kamala for theiir support.

I live in Ohio and had Blackwell steal an election right in front of us but ya know….it’s something you NEVER get used to. We all love Joe Biden, but we do not know or care about him the personal way that Pelosi, Schumer, and others who called for him to step down know and love him. This wasn't easy for them.

Also, Biden is a brilliant, strong fighter. He would not have stepped back unless he decided it was the best thing to do for our country.

Much love to our beloved President Biden, and to the Democratic leaders who did what they believed they needed to do to save the country from Trump.

for him on a personal level. But also, yes, being calculating is their responsibility to this party and this country. A person whose job is to do what is best for the country must speak up if they believe it is in the best interest of the country. They cannot put their friendships and personal relationships over the good of the party and the country.

Trump winning would be catastrophic for our security and for our democracy. That is not hyperbole.

Also, I truly believe that if Biden thought he was the best choice to run, he would not have stepped down from the campaign. He strikes me as a fighter and someone who does what he believes is right, too. I respect President Biden's decision to support Kamala as the nominee.

120. From What I Am Hearing on the News
Sun Jul 21, 2024, 06:34 PM
Jul 21

From what I am hearing from the news he is pretty angry and hurt. I wish he could have been convinced to delay his decision until he had recovered from COVID. From the news reporting it seemed like him being isolated and having to deal with COVID may have allowed him to make a rash decision due to his being tired. It seems like he may have become a little frustrated and said screw it I'm out. It seems like he did not want to drop out, but was tried from COVID. He might have felt different next week.

43. The Democratic Party, IMO, has acted with breathtaking dishonor.

I know, nobody cares about honor, morality, or ethics anymore (or at least, scarce anyone in a public position). Forget everything else, forcing Mr Biden out (and he was forced, let's have none of this "it was his decision" noise, he went kicking and screaming every inch of the way) was the most dishonorable act I've seen the Democrats commit in quite some time. (GOP thrives on them, of course)

In the end, I don't know that it makes much difference, but I'll tell ya, Niyad, I'm not looking forward to the gloating that's gonna come from both the GOP and some Democrats after this. And it really makes me wonder if the Money has won after all, since the only reason the Democrats ditched Joe was because the money-men told them to.

... never showed Joe Biden the same decency and loyalty which Joe Biden showed them and our country. I'm old enough to remember when our Democratic Party frowned upon this very type of back room, cigar smoking, political nomination process and it was absolutely despised as being undemocratic conduct which thwarted the will of the voters and changes were made in the party apparatus to prevent such conduct from happening. These corrupt politicians will live in infamy and deservedly so for such treachery.

The people saw that he had limitations that were not previously known about.

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to have someone step aside for such a reason, it is not a bad thing, just a necessary thing.

It fosters anger and will undermine our turnout if you insist to imply that we are terrible people.

Nearly two-thirds of Democrats want Biden to withdraw, new AP-NORC poll finds

Half of Black Democrats say he should continue running, while only a third of white and Hispanic Democrats say the same.

Younger Democrats are more likely to want Biden to withdraw from the race. Three-quarters of Democrats under the age of 45 want Biden to drop out, compared to 57% of those over the age of 45.

I’m so angry I could spit venom. Most likely Biden will Nominate Harris. The other side thinks they can beat her. We can’t let them! I wonder if a sudden influx of donations to Harris would help settle the party on her and get her the backing she needs to win? Anyone else?

After a certain point, we simply aren't able to perform at the same level. That doesn't mean Biden didn't accomplish a great deal for our country, but he couldn't go on in the most stressful job in the world for four more years. That's what those who saw him often realized that many of us who don't know him didn't necessarily see.

The import thing now, however, is that we still have an election to win. We must pick a nominee soon and rally around that person to defeat Trump!

Sun Jul 21, 2024, 06:18 PM
Jul 21

Biden has a good grip on the political winds, well aware TSF will probably try something to steal the
election, possible throw it to the House to vote on and pick a winner?

And the President between election day and Jan 21 might have to make some very serious calls, like
I can do whatever I want because the Supreme Court gave me immunity, so arrest that insurrectionist
and that insurrectionist and all those people over there, maybe even Martial Law to control all the Rs
out in the streets wanting a bloodbath.

Believe Biden and his inner circle know something and that they will never tell the public before
election day, meanwhile Kamala can say look my hands are clean.
