She’s a Californian. Mark Kelly is from Arizona. Too much West Coast - but I ‘ve gotta admit, I personally LOVE-LOVE-LOVE it!

I trust her to choose wisely, whoever she picks.

we have so many good ones. Doesn't he lean right? We need left leaning. That is what the country is wanting now. Kelly pulls away from that.

But the bigger issue time is charisma and region. Pennsylvania is a crucial state -if not the crucial state. Having that in the bag from the start with Shapiro would help us expand the map in a potentially huge way.

Gretchen, I’m not sure she’ll do it. I voted Pete because the younger generation absolutely loves him. On another note, Shapiro is a master speaker. (And, my daughter did vote for him while she living in PA.) He has that special cadence that only few people have (Obama). It’s a tough choice.

7. Shapiro. He would be a good bet to deliver Pennsylvania's 19 electoral votes

and that makes his choice golden because this will likely be a close election and not a blowout like some seem to wish it to be. Pennsylvania is a swing state that Biden won in '20 but Trump won in '16.

Not only do I think he's one of the most brilliant minds of this generation, but I love the momentum he has right now with young people and I think we need to grab that and run with it!

Like others I believe he can deliver Pennsylvania. I'm also - like the rest of social media - a fan of Pete's. I'm confident either would be a great choice.

10. I'm really rooting for him, quite frankly. Only because I think he will dramatically boost the ticket

Not because I agree with everything he supports policy wise -since almost no vice president has any say in policy anyways with the rare exceptions of being a tie breaking vote (not going to be an issue if Shapiro is VP since he will bring coattails like we’ve never seen!)

11. He's a little more centrist & frankly I think that's an asset to Kamala,

he actually practiced law for a while at a corporate firm in Philly which will make the business community more comfortable. He's a decade younger than her (and Kelly) - firmly in Gen X territory. Definitely a good pick.

16. So the other day I looked at brief video clips of Kelly, Beshear, Shapiro, and others.

I had an immediate attraction to Shapiro in just 30 seconds. Everything he said was what I want to hear from a candidate.

I wasn't really impressed by what I saw from the others for various reasons, some of which I'll admit are petty (accents, appearance).

All of that said, I really like Shapiro, I really like Wes Moore, and I really like Pete B, but I think we should only have one unprecedented candidate at a time. We need to be able to quickly understand what works and what doesn't work so that if something goes wrong we can tweak it in the future. We also have to be mindful about the current areas of tension within our coalition.

It's really effed up but I think we're forced to have a traditional white male VP at this time. The choices that I've been made aware of are boring but whatever. The focus should just be on winning the White House. That's it. Hopefully if an older candidate is chosen, s/he will be willing to step aside in eight years so that we don't end up in a similar situation again.
