RFK JR says he once had a freezer full of road kill meat

Asked about bear carcass prank, RFK Jr. says he once had a freezer full of roadkill meat

NBC4 New York

It wasn’t just the dead bear.

Days after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. admitted to taking a bear carcass from the side of the road and placing it in Central Park as a prank a decade ago, he said that has been picking up roadkill his "whole life” and once had a “freezer full of it” at home.

The comment came as the independent presidential candidate was leaving an upstate New York courtroom Wednesday where he had testified in a lawsuit seeking to exclude him from the state's ballot in November.

The trial has focused on whether Kennedy improperly listed a residence in the New York City suburb of Katonah as his home address on his nominating petitions, when he has actually been living in the Los Angeles area since 2014.

but is it common to eat bear meat? I have relatives who hunt, but only for deer. Venison is really good. I've never heard of eating bear or roadkill for that matter.

My boss had been a bow hunter, and he still occasionally processed his friends’ kills. after the store closed. It was usually deer, but one night it was a bear.

That thing exploded when the bandsaw blade hit it. It was like wet cement sprayed all over the saw, the walls, the floor and a block. It took forever to clean up, and it stunk to high heaven! I wouldn’t eat bear on a bet.

I had the same question myself when I first read the story on the bear cub.. That said, the whole idea of eating Road Kill seems more than a tad bizarre, not to mention exceedingly gross.
As a Democrat old enough to recall the father and uncle of Bob Jr. and their tragic murders, I've always had a certain sympathy for, and interest in the family,
That said, what the hell is WRONG with this guy?...Whatever it is, I'm quite glad for his low poll numbers and that any
votes for him will reputedly only hurt Trump.

The meat's supposed to be very greasy so hunters usually make sausage out of it. I think it's pointless, whereas I think Elk & Deer hunting is fine.

A decade back, I was backpacking at Spider Meadow in the Cascades and woke up to rifle fire at about 7 am - scared the crap out of me. I saw the bear running through the scree. Don't know if it was a fatal shot. I put my orange vest on from there on out.

I was in MT and my brother ran over a fawn with my Mini and we limped back a half mile to his house - tore up the water pump. By the time we had it towed (about 40 min.), the fawn was gone.
