Republican pollster Frank Luntz appears stunned at the current state of the Kamala Harris-Donald Trump matchup and this year’s presidential election.
Luntz, who’s been called “The Nostradamus of pollsters” and conducts focus groups, had been bullish on Trump defeating Joe Biden and returning to the White House. Now, he says, he can’t believe what he’s seeing among his focus groups and in the polls.
“She’s bringing out people who are not interested in voting for either Trump or Biden, so the entire electoral pool has changed and if it continues in this direction you have to start to consider Democrats winning the Senate and Democrats winning the House,” Luntz said Wednesday on CNBC.
“She’s got intensity now. She’s got an intensity advantage. She’s got a demographic advantage and I haven’t seen anything like this happen in 30 days in my lifetime,” he said. “Now my groups are broken up by young women saying, ‘I’m not voting for him anymore.’”

Now, he has his own company and is supposedly NEUTRAL in who he will work for and/or support.

Gotta love his focus groups that are always 98% Republican, right?
But he's "neutral." Whatever.

I have to concur this much having watched this for close to 60 years:
I can't recall seeing anything like it either (getting like Ground Hog Day .. I keep saying this)
The launch of her campaign has been going like a smooth symphony and lots of people seem to be liking their music.
It's still close. We have a long way to go.
Great start!

Trippi:
We gotta keep doing the work. No matter what this thing looks like, no matter what it is, we keep doing the work. They keep doing the crazy, we keep doing the work. And run it up everywhere we can. And fight everywhere, including Texas and Florida.
Rosenberg:
If I can say one last point. . . Everyone's gotta realize what Joe just said is so important. Right now, the people that I'm talking to who are canvassing and making phone calls -- so it's exciting, people are interested. You've got this new candidate, new dynamic. Imagine if you are a marginal voter and you kinda have this new excitement, and then the campaign calls you, or the campaign knocks on your door. Not only is this exciting, but they care about me!
What we are hearing anecdotally from people who are making calls and canvassing, and texting right now, is that the reception is unbelievable. And people are like "thank you for calling me," "I want to volunteer." People are volunteering to volunteer. They are not even having to be asked.
So I think there is this dynamic right now that this huge grassroots army that is already deployed is also moving the needle. It's turning people from potential voters, marginal voters into our supporters. And then that is creating what I call this virtuous cycle of participation. This virtuous cycle is now beginning to kick in in the election.
So anyone who is thinking of working, make your plan now. How are you going to close? Early voting starts in 38 days. What are you going to do? Don't wait. Be active now. It's an amazing time to be talking to voters right now. The response has been incredible. And early vote starts in 38 days. Have your plan now for how you're going to give, how you're going to volunteer, and how you're going to vote on day one. It 's important that everyone vote as early as they can in the early vote. If you do that our campaigns move on to lower propensity voters. It increases voter turn out

(2,620 posts)He's the guy who gathered a handfull of gopper congresspricks and other goppers at a dinner on the night of Obama's first inauguration. They agreed that night that goppers in Congress would oppose Obama on everything. This was the limbaugh wet dream. The corpulent bigot had been on air for years promoting anti-liberal hate for hate's sake. That dinner was the genesis of the current level of gridlock we see today. It ain't both sides.

Harris provides an out, something other than this terribly depressing shit we've been doing for 10 years, plus. Trump is no longer the change candidate, except for his most weirdo supporters. It's why his attempts to link Harris to Biden policies have fallen so flat.

(57,609 posts)He will rarely tell a public audience what he really thinks about anything. He is a very talented mercenary, willing to say anything, pull any stunt, give whatever opinion he thinks will please the ones paying his (substantial) bill. The right pays better, and so he works for them--and he does it well. But it's mostly theater, and should be taken as such.
In ancient Greece, the Oracle at Delphi was well-known for giving prophesies that were just ambiguous enough to be able to be interpreted in a way that was encouraging to the one paying for the prophesy. Eels hold Frank Luntz up as their role model in being slippery.
He knows what the score is, and can read the tea leaves as well as anyone, maybe even better than most. But if the cameras are rolling, or he thinks your computer is hackable, or the mic is on somewhere, all you will hear fro Frank is what he thinks Republicans want to hear, or else should hear. All is geared toward them winning, because if they do, his paycheck gets fatter. He will never predict a landslide victory for Harris/Walz because Republicans don't want to hear it. If he sees it coming, he will only say so if he is confident no one will ever have a record of it. Otherwise, he will dance around it like an expert snake charmer who never gets bitten by the cobra.
I especially like the part about the eels.

Luntz said he predicted that Dump would win the white house again but now he here's women saying "Im not voting for him anymore". To those morons I say, really?!?! Like you had a good choice there? Have you been watching the last 7 years??? How did you think voting a dictator into power would give you any power in your government? I would love to hear the answers but I know it will be the usual nonsense. Would also like to know how they feel about JD Vance and his about face from Dump hater to Dump lover? Do they like spinless vice presidents that much? Magats need not answer. Your brains are already outside the realm of reality.

(308 posts)...he is a Republicon through and through. His expertise is using language to trick people into believing Republicon lies.
Frank Luntz knows when to sound moderate but listen to him carefully. Listen to how he asks his questions, and what he does when the conversation veers into reality, or in favor of a Democratic position.
Never trust that man.
