During an appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe," conservative pollster Frank Luntz shared focus group footage of conservative voters who explained why they can't vote for Donald Trump this time and complained that Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) was a devastatingly bad choice as a running mate.
Speaking with the hosts, Luntz said there was no good news for the former president in his newest round of focus groups, with many of the participants admitting they were excited to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and that they were appalled by Vance.
"They are tired of Trump's abuse and of Trump's personality," Luntz told the hosts before adding, "What is unique about them is you're going to see how many young women are participating now. They are the ones that switched. they are the ones who went either from undecided or supporting Kennedy, and you've notice that Kennedy's numbers have completely imploded.
"They either supported Kennedy, Trump or were undecided, and they are so excited about this younger, fresher woman running that you can see it and feel it in their intensity, in their passion and in their desire for change."

(71,014 posts)...in May his favorable/unfavorable aggregate was plus 1 1.
The most recent rounds of polling shows him at NEGATIVE 7 5.
A -8.6% decline in 3 months makes me think "implodes" is an apt descriptor.

Because if/when Kamala wins trDUMP will have lots and lots of time to sort out his litigation phase and then incarceration phase of his pending criminal matters. I bet Jack Smith can't wait to get his hands firmly around trDUMP's chubby neck
and wring it until his face turns blue.

(15,917 posts)Could have showed a little humility and brought Haley in as a "come together moment"
Could have picked Tulsi Gabbard, high ranking officer in the US Army (Lt. Col) also a former Dem who gave VP Harris a hard time in the 2020 debates...
Anna Paulina Luna would have been a brave choice to go after Youth, Hispanic and Women...
But Vance...
fuck me, he's worse than DeSantis, Vivek and Rubio.
The only choice that may have been worse would have been Kid Rock himself... or Ted Nugent.

I hate how Joe was demeaned, but the dynamic was completely changed and he's just 100% the wrong person now.

(72,885 posts)He was all the buzz in GINGRICH wingnut world, came up with a glossary of positive and negative words for the nuts to use based on focus groups' reactions to them. Yes, "demoCRAT" noun used as an adjective *does* grate on the ears - BECAUSE IT'S UNGRAMMATICAL.

(22,541 posts)I hate nearly everything he's ever done and it's a long list, but dang, I admire him. The Left so needs/needed someone as good at that skill set as he is. Forget Gingrich and company, his list incl "Death Taxes" and "Job Creators." Ugh!
I think he's had as much, if not more, influence on politics and the state of the country as anyone in my lifetime (incl Reagan, etc). I don't like that, but can be impressed nonetheless, at the objective/abstract level.
We should be impressed, in fact. There are lessons for the Left from his work.

I hope there are more laughs coming as they both consistently stomp on their tongues
