This would be a good time to get other Senators to Co-sponsor legislation he may propose. I want to see this happen. It needs to happen. Lets all make this happen!!!

I sent him a link to this dispite the facy I'm not in Vermont. But hey! What do I know. I'm just trying to make this change in our democracy (for what its worth) because its important to me. And I'm serious when I write that. I started this before KPOJ went to sports. I just want a response to the foul-mouth Mark Lavin. He needs to be sent to China for a couple of years. Nuf said.

(27,247 posts)J. William Fulbright, Frank Church, Mike Mansfield, Robert Kennedy, Ted Kennedy, William Proxmire, and even some decent Republicans like Everett Dirksen and Margaret Chase Smith, come immediately to mind.
As Joni Mitchell sang, "Don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone..." :sigh:

(14,887 posts)Recalling Howard Dean suggested this when he ran for President. The media trashed him less than a week later w/ the 'Dean scream' playing on an endless loop and branding him 'unelectable'.

Sen. Bernie Sanders on Thursday told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference why he is fighting a proposed Federal Communications Commission rule change which would allow media conglomerates to dominate broadcast and print media. Were going to do everything we can to prevent it from happening, Sanders told Bill Moyers in an interview that will air this weekend on Moyers & Company. We cannot live in a vibrant democracy unless people get divergent sources of information and have the opportunity to have serious debate about the major issues of the day, Sanders said at the news conference.

(2,397 posts)I just saw on here the other night that the Seattle station switched. So it is a given that we fight back on this. As I may have posted elsewhere, this is not a time to lay back and hope that things will be better in the morning. Ain't going to happen.
And if there are any organizations you can think of that would be willing to help push this(believe me this is a heavy lift for just one person), then it would not only be appreciated, but it would build the momentum that much more.
Again, to those in Seattle, I'm sorry you lost your voice(and Stephenie Miller, or Thom Hartmann), but we can have our day. We just have to work for it. Now as big Ed would say, "lets get to work".
Again, thank you so much for helping keep my dream alive to end corporate media.
