Upper Income Tax RATES---Christ, Are We MorAns
What a crock!!! If Congress lowers the upper income tax rate to 1% or raises it to 99% what the shit differnece does it make.....they DO NOT PAY TAXES --PERIOD!! It makes their tax lawyers work harder. And, as you can see in the last election, they will spend millions in order to cheat the government 5 bucks. Their goal is to destroy and/or contrrol our government. Soooo, what is my point??
We sat by (I'm 67) as they went after poor people. We sat by when they went after low income people. We sat by when Ronnie the dumb went after unions (and labor union guys bought it). We sat by when our blue collar jobs went over seas. Went sat by when they started after white collar educated people. We just sit by because there is no other place to go...and the rich bastards know it. Bottome line: what they are after now is those in about the $250,000 to $400,00 category (like docs and lawyers outside of big cities). Hell, like you, I'm all for it because we don't have that kind of money....but I do realize that in some places that's like the equivilent of my hubby's and my pathetic retirement in a backwoods state!!! The point is that these $250,000-$4000,000 people are the repukes next target. They think they are yuppies and the loves of the Repuke Party and protected by them. No, they are just more trash that the real rich want to destroy and have carry the burden for them who believe they owe nothing to this country. Christ, they have bled the rest of us dry. Now they are after the next on the food chain. The rich bastards will still pay NOTHING! Hey, maybe you yuppies would like to join us!!!

Set the rate at whatever, (like you said - 99%) it doesn't matter. They will find the loopholes, move accounts offshore, lobby for tax deductions that only benefit the rich and on and on. Make it 99% and you and I will still pay a higher income tax rate, by far, than they ever will!! I have been screaming this at my TeeVee for as long as this tax rate argument has been going on and I am getting hoarse. Thank you for posting this DemocracyInaction - it needs to be repeated over and over.
