After the devastating debate, Trump has been touting polls hes paid for saying hes winning with 80-90% of the vote. His rhetoric on this has dominated since the debate. These polls he is citing are polls he paid for. Why is he paying for polls and not to get re-elected? Meidas Touch had an explanation for this: he is setting up the election was rigged talking point. In other words, Trump knows he is going to lose so he is paying for polls that show he is winning by ridiculously huge margins so he (and politicians who still support him) can challenge the election and foment violence from their supporters.
With that in mind, now consider that Sept. 19th will be the first possible date that Trump can sell his 120 million shares in DJT (currently valued around $1.5 billion), as long as they remain above $12 / share. This stock has resisted dropping below $15/share and it is not normal resistance as the short positions against it are accelerating. When Trump starts selling, the share price will inevitably start dropping, and it is unlikely he will be able to cash in all 120 million shares before it hits $12 unless he gets a contractual buyer with a fixed price. Lets say that happens.
Meanwhile, he just announced his latest grift of a digital currency. Do you think his fans are going to continue to dump money into this? Are they going to sell their shares of DJT at a loss to buy his coin? Doubtful. Hes setting this up as a money laundering device that cant be regulated by the US like his DJT shares are.
Trump now has far more wealth than he ever has (hes never really been a billionaire). He knows he cant win the election. He is facing several criminal cases as well as sentencing (he will get time from the Hush Money case; if you want to know why, watch ?si=-9_ZxZQe94QNhcro" target="_blank">this). There is no way this guy is sticking around to watch the loss. I suspect he will go on vacation in October and then when he loses the election on Nov. 5, he will tell his supporters he is living in exile in Russia until he can be restored to power, telling his supporters the only way that can happen is if they engage in insurrection against the US. And Russia will fund these idiots with the digital currency launched by Trump.

(5,048 posts)He will grift it all as long as there is a pay day for Donnie. Just think of the wreckage Don Jr., Eric and Ivanka will inherit. Very well deserved.

That is where the vast bulk of his wealth is.
AFAIK, with the exception of his Scottish golf course, he doesnt own the Trump branded properties outside of the US.
He has at least two huge bonds that use his assets as collateral.

(76,545 posts)...accurately points out that he is at risk of holding low value paper that can't be sold.
So, those assets you describe may not be worth $1.5Bn

(1,098 posts)That will buy his portion of shares for $12/share. Thinking Saudi or Saudi-derived $$.

(27,590 posts)no special privileges (such as being an ex-president with all the perks), he doesn't speak the language (nor does he speak the standard English that many Russians speak), and he'd be surrounded by foreigners. Russian burgers are probably not what he's used to. In short, I doubt he'd move to Russia. But for all the reasons listed above, I really hope he does. It would save millions that would be spent indicting and trying him, and it would be great to see him suffer in his own personal hell.

I've been there multiple times and it's awesome.

(46,123 posts)It would be totally at odds with his narcissistic personality. He has total confidence that he will never face imprisonment. He has total faith that if he's convicted of any crimes that might actually lead to a prison sentence -- which excludes the NY fraud case for which it is all but certain he will not be sentenced to jail time as a first offender of a non-violent crime -- he will remain free during the appeals process and he is confident that the courts, particularly the Supreme Court, will come through on his behalf. While those appeals are pending and he's not incarcerated, and assuming (please please let it be so) he loses the election, he will be free to continue to hold rallies and otherwise grift his crazy followers.

(6,336 posts)Both sets of federal charges will be dropped. GA will also drop their case. And NY will sentence him to a fine and some sort of probation.
The goal will be to make him dissappear until he dies.
