Has anyone ever had a worse week than Mitt Romney has had this week??

Going from running away with the election with a South Carolina win, to 2 horrible debates, questions about his taxes, and his utter failure at trying to answer them, to now being as much as 6 points behind Newt Gingrich, and lowering expectations for a win.

The man has gone from on top of the mountain to falling all the way down the mountain.

Willard has had a horrible week.

One minute riding high, the next crash-and-burn. I mean look at how many times this has happened so far! Cain, Perry, Newt and now Mitt....if I believed in god, I'd say he has one hell of a sense of humor and is trying (though unsuccessfully) to teach these clowns about the sin of pride I can't wait to see who's going down in flames next.

He did this, in big part, by bashing the media. I think this is a "win the battle, lose the war" strategy. They'll all be gunning for Newt, now. And he's still got some quality skeletons in his closet yet to be fully examined. His ride down should be exhilarating.

Newt is not going to be acceptable to fundamentalist Christians. He is just too flippant about his "conversion."

Bush's born-again status was more believable than Newt's Catholic convert bit.

It is especially odd that he converted to Catholicism under the influence of a supposedly Catholic woman who had been sharing his bed out of wedlock over a period of maybe six years while Gingrich was married to another woman. How believable is it that she is a devout Catholic?

Forgive any bombastic, righteous, televangelist caught with a gay, underage prostitute if he cries foul, then goes and gets "cured"? The same Fundie Christians who will embrace women who've had abortions if they weep and say they regret it and will now fight tooth and nail for pro-life? The same Fundie Christians who voted in divorced Pres. Reagan over monogamous Pres. Carter? The same ones who embraced Sarah Palin even though her daughter was having an out-of-wedlock child?

It goes on and on. All Fundies want to hear from anyone is that he/she will return America back to the white Christian, gun-toting, male-dominated golden era it was back...well, in their imaginations or during either Jim Crowe times or the Confederacy. That and that they're not a Mormon.

That's the magic of being a Fundie Christian. No sin is too great that it can't be washed away with crocodile tears and hatred of all things that smack of "fairness" and logic. Promise the Fundies that you will make them the masters of America, and everyone else will have to bow to their will, and they will confer on you sainthood no matter what your past or present transgressions.

when I learned Gingrich was still making the rounds. It was practically a given that it WOULDN'T be Romney, then practically a given that he WOULD -- whiplash.

he was always the one left over and the party was looking for anyone else to support. they went perry, cain, gingrich, santorum etc. even bachmann at one point.

he doesn't have a true following .

i think if he had some enthusiastic supporters like Ron Paul throughout the nation he could build upon that. but he doesn't.

and part of it has to do with people not knowing what he stands for or what he is. just some wealthy guy who likes to fire people, thinks 300k is not a lot of money, pays less taxes than someone who makes far less. and then calls anyone who criticizes him jealous.

Nobody died. He's still crazy rich.

Countless millions are desperately hungry. Millions have been slaughtered in genocide in just the past century.

I'd say he's doing better than 99.999999% of the people on this planet.
