How to get out of your news echo chamber

Given that Republicans are willing to completely lean into lying and fabrication, this is how they can continue to be competitive even as they push lies that are disassociate from reality. Democrats and progressives have been less willing to just make up crap that has no basis in fact, but Trump has no such concerns, and he can freely push out outrageous content into a hermetically sealed social media echo chamber.

I found that I do a better job reading it for myself than having some tv newsreader read it for me. They leave stuff out. And maybe they can’t help it, or maybe they do it on purpose, but their facial expressions and voice intonations lead me to believe they’re trying to make me feel a certain way about the story, instead of their just reporting it. The written page might try the same thing, but it doesn’t try as hard, and it’s easier to fact-check…lol.

(EDIT: Wow, I sound like some crotchety old man. I am one. But I sound like one, too.)
