The New York Times has been able to confirm, for the first time, that there has been coordination between the Trump Campaign and Twitter, or in other words, Elon Musk. In a new article released this morning, the Times writes:
"The relationship has proved significant in other ways. After a reporters publication of hacked Trump campaign information last month, the campaign connected with X to prevent the circulation of links to the material on the platform, according to two people with knowledge of the events. X eventually blocked links to the material and suspended the reporters account."
The relationship at issue is the one between Elon Musk and Donald Trump. While that note is a small portion of the larger story which outlines the ever growing relationship between Musk and Trump, it underscores the benefits Trump has received since Musk has thrown his support behind the Trump campaign.
Earlier this year, there was reporting of hacked material obtained by a foreign power from the Trump campaign. According to the New York Times, the Trump campaign connected with Twitter to prevent the circulation of links to the released material and, as a result, Twitter actually suspended the reporter's account and blocked links to the material at issue.

(42,910 posts)the largest election interference SCHEME IN HISTORY. " Notice also that NYT doesn't say "confirming conspiracy," which also has to be proven.
Jumping to conclusions sets up the belief a crime's been committed, and then all the wondering that follows about why some law enforcement agency, say, the DOJ, is acting "too slow."
NYT gets clicks for this, esp with Elon and Trump being the subjects of the same "report." It could be something, but NYT is careful to not say that.

(7,444 posts)it sounds like in-kind election contribution... much more than would be allowed by the FEC. But then, I admit I'm not as knowledgeable about election finance law as I could be, so I may be all wet here...

(13,210 posts)hide in a paragraph far into the article:
They bury in paragraph 23 that Trump had Elmo take down a post by reporter Ken Klippenstein about the JD Vance emails that were hacked and published by him, not only that he was banned after posting them, unlike the assholes that posted Hunter Biden dick pics, when they were hacked and were altered.
They call Elmo's lies as misinformation (he is just dumb) instead of deliberate disinformation
They ignore completely Elmo's disinformation regarding hurricanes and his dehumanizing of migrants. They ignore completely Elmo's role in stoking riots in the UK and calling for a civil war there.
They fail to mention Elmo's fight against Jack Smith to the supreme court in favour of Trump
They fail to mention Elmo's fight against the Brazilian government because he refuses to play by their rules and laws.
They call Elmo's threats of assassination against Harris as "insulting the VP Harris", like it is nothing serious.
This is just one more Haberman/Schmidt fluff article to distract against the real damaging information.

(42,910 posts)Because nowhere does NYT bring receipts of any criminality. So no one should think any of this is necessarily illegal.

(4,772 posts)He was busy using Big Tech's 'censoring; of Hunter Biden's laptop info as an excuse not to answer if Trump had lost the 2020 election.
Seems he should be very concerned about the censorship of relevant election info by Musk.

(2,937 posts)Too many people voting for Harris. Go to the polls, mail your ballot in, whatever means you choose. This is all happening online, it's not happening on the ground, where we place our votes. Who cares what is on used-to-be Twitter? Who is going to be influenced by anything they do? Not this time around. Sorry guys, you lose. We aren't falling for it this time.
