Trump campaign manager shared posts in 2021 saying Trump's lies caused the violence on January 6

CNN

In the immediate aftermath of the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, a number of conservatives and Republicans broke ranks with then-President Donald Trump and blamed him for the violence that day. Among them was Trump’s current campaign manager, Chris LaCivita.

In a series of reposts on X – formerly Twitter – LaCivita shared comments calling January 6 an “insurrection” that was fueled by Trump’s baseless election lies. Some of those posts have since been deleted from LaCivita’s feed, but CNN was able to review them on the Internet Archive WayBack Machine, which archives internet webpages.

On January 6, 2021, LaCivita reposted several posts that harshly condemned Trump, suggesting that even some of his closest allies once viewed the deadly outcome as a direct result of Trump’s lies.

I assume the DOJ had access to a lot of evidence like this with which to prosecute Trump but chose to do nothing for many months. Mitch McConnell should also be treated as a traitor to democracy. All that was needed to prevent another Trump presidency was a conviction in his second impeachment trial, but McConnell refused to allow that and bar Trump from future office. The oath to support the Constitution means nothing to Republicans.

MAGA does not care what people said about Donald Trump in the past -- they only care what people say about him now. Look at JD Vance -- he's on record calling Trump an "idiot," "reprehensible," and comparing him to Hitler. But none of that matters now, because Vance has "converted" to Trumpism.

Becoming born again (or re-born again) is how so many despicable Republicans get away with immoral behavior. They get caught cheating, or drunk driving, or committing fraud, or whatever -- and then all they have to do is repent, accept Jesus Christ into their hearts, and lo and behold their sins are washed away. As soon as they turn to (the fundamentalists' version of) Jesus, all is forgiven.

It's the same dynamic in action with these former Trump-bashers. As soon as they "see the light" and "come to Donald" it doesn't matter what they said before. In fact, they are appreciated even more by MAGA, because they are converts to the cause. And there's nothing like the "zeal of the convert."

It just came back online today.

No idea who or why it was attacked.

Parts are still recovering.

The archive was attacked in court by publishers who claimed that the IA lending books (in a very controlled way) violated their rights, and the bastards won, causing libraries around the country to wonder.
