https://www.propublica.org/article/video-donald-trump-russ-vought-center-renewing-america-magaIn private speeches delivered in 2023 and 2024, Russell Vought, who served as Trumps director of the Office of Management and Budget, described his work crafting legal justifications so that military leaders or government lawyers would not stop Trumps executive actions.
He said the plans are a response to a Marxist takeover of the country; likened the moment to 1776 and 1860, when the country was at war or on the brink of it; and said the timing of Trumps candidacy was a gift of God.
Voughts plans track closely with Trumps campaign rhetoric about using the military against domestic protesters or what Trump has called the enemy within. Trumps desire to use the military on U.S. soil recently prompted his longest-serving chief of staff, retired Marine Gen. John Kelly, to speak out, saying Trump certainly prefers the dictator approach to government.
Also, here is a video link of a Vought speech excerpt from the article:
And FUCK this guy for using a Tolkien reference.

(1,098 posts)It would break the Constitution and instigate a true military rebellion leading to a civil war.
However I personally believe the consitution has already broken simply by allowing an admitted insurrectionist to run for office.

(7,717 posts)look at how much FL and TX have already gotten away with by just saying "we're not going to listen" and "we're not going to do what the Feds say." Then see how far that attitude has drifted from those two states into others, such as a whole tier of Southern states, up into ARK, MO, and KS among others. At this point, it's only the republicans saying this. When WE start saying it, and backing up our words like they do, THEN we're going to either have to go to war or give them a country somewhere of their own (preferably OFF the continental United States... I don't trust they to abide by any treaty!) Shut down a few military bases in those states, pull back the arms and ammo, keep FEMA at home for their own safety's sake, and make sure they pay their fair share into the US treasury. No more red state welfare. Heck, maybe they'll find Somalia fits them just fine... or Hungary. We could offer to fly all of them over to Orban via military aircraft, as soon as they turn in their citizenship ID's.
