it is pricey but there using a long tanning process -- another company i love -- hand made in italy, il bisonte -- does the same thing.
i have some of their products -- and let me tell you when that stuff ages it is gorgeous.

selling them for under $50. Granted this was several years ago and the price of leather has really gone up, but $160 is still ridiculous IMO.

is probably the reason for the price tag. If they age well, it might just be worth it.
